Editorial Reviews

2008 re-issue now comes with three enhanced videos. Debut album from this French vocalist of Algerian descent. Soha's sound incorporates reggae, Latin, Algerian, and Jazz - she truly is a girl of her time, knowing no boundaries other than the limit of her imagination. The result is a fantastic album that feels so much more than just the sum of these parts. There is no sense of trying items from a shopping list on for size - instead she has incorporated these influences into her soul and her music is a natural expression of this. Like all gifted musicians, Soha has assimilated a diverse range of influences but comes out the other side sounding wholly original. This diverse, constantly surprising album, will undoubtedly be one of the year's best. EMI

5.0 out of 5 stars A Different Spin, April 7, 2009
This review is from: D'Ici Et D'Ailleurs (2008 Verison) (Audio CD)
I loved this one as soon as I saw her short PR piece on TV. It wasn't easy to get, but it is totally worth the trouble. What a rich voice she has and she has total control of it. Singing two languages in the same song isn't done very often. She does it so well. Her style is energetic, passionate, feminine and sexy. I highly reccommend it to anyone who enjoys a little something different in entertainment.

4.0 out of 5 stars A global mix, May 21, 2011

This review is from: D'Ici Et D'Ailleurs (2008 Verison) (Audio CD)
I heard one of Soha's songs and was immediately struck by her unforgettable voice. D'Ici et D'ailleurs is a wonderful mix of Afro-cuban songs laced with the influence of her experience in France. While the music is enjoyable, it's not the kind of collection that I found myself able to play over and over like other favorites. I play it, enjoy it and put it down for awhile. Then put it on again a couple weeks later to discover something new. Worth a listen and I'll look for more by this talented artist, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars A geniune "feel good" album, June 4, 2009
This review is from: D'Ici Et D'Ailleurs (2008 Verison) (Audio CD)
At most 2 songs could have been improve on this nearly perfect blend of titles mixing [Jazz, Bossa, french pop, HipHop, world fusion, reggae] with caribean touch. Well done. Joyous and lively.

"Cafe bleu" song is a hit!
