Smooth Vibe 'n Riddums,
By "melodic" (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: DJ Kicks (Audio CD)
Another exceptional installment from the DJ Kicks collection...Rockers Hi-Fi is probably one of the least diverse of the DJ Kicks, sticking mainly to dub-reggae. But if that is your bag, then this is an outstanding album. Vocal contributions by Farda P are always welcome and kick the album "uppa proppa like" to a higher level of trip hop massive.

Rockers Hi-Fi: Best in DJ Kicks Series,
By A Customer
This review is from: DJ Kicks (Audio CD)
Staying true to their sound-system roots, the Rockers are prolific in their production of mixtapes which incorporate live DJing, chatting, toasting and mixing-desk mayhem: what they call 'Dex'n'Fx'.It was only a matter of time therefore before they were invited by Berlin based label !K7 to produce a 'DJ Kicks' compilation - subtitled 'The Black Album' because of the ramifications of stepping outside the normal boundaries of their deal with Warners. Along with Kruder and Dorfmeister - whom they hold in deep and mutual respect, and who added their own brand of magic to the remix of 'Going Under' from 'Mish Mash', - this was one of the best selling albums in the DJ Kicks series.
