Yes there is no sound. The only sound you are going to get is if you buy the Phantom 2 with Gimbal with your GoPro.

Yes, but you will need some extra parts and it still is only works with the 2D version. If you are interested in that gimbal you might want to buy the phantom 2 bundle as it would be much cheaper. If you want this quad and a gimbal I would look at the Walkera G-2D Brushless Gimbal

I'm sorry to say it does not. It gives real time video or you can take snapshots. I video mode it won't take still pictures, at least mine won't. My parrot ar drone will do the video and take pics all at the same time, but the phantom will fly circles around the parrot drone, which is a toy compared to the phantom. If you want telemetry at all, you can buy the iOSD and a can hub and install them yourself. That is what I did, but if you are not a good with working with electronics, I would not try it. I finally bought a DJI Phantom2 vision. It has the telemetry and it is ready to go. By the time you purchase the fc40 and do the work to have the on screen data you will have almost as much money invested as a vision. I am really happy with the Phantom 2 vision as it has a longer flight time and much more lifting power.

FC40 and Vision 2 are dramatically different, The Vision 2 has a 14 MP camera, shoots @ 1080P 30FPS, the FC40 has only 720P @ 30 FPS and is a substantially lower quality Also ranges differ for 100 metres for the FC40, 300 for Vision 2 for wifi streaming Batteries differ too, 5200 Mah for V2, 2200 Mah for FC40, meaning 25 mins fly time for V2, around 10 - 15 mins for FC40, both can stream to phones live Battery prices are expensive for V2, around $125, compared to $20 for FC40: You can buy Carbon Fibre battery extenders for the FC40 which allows for 2 2200 Mah batteries, flight times around 25 mins, cost around $15 to $25, just Google them The only reason to get the Vision 2 is for an all round complete package, the FC40 will allow for the GP3 to be attached and streamed live, which is a better cam than the V2, so it depends on what your budget is I am looking at a FC40 or Phantom as I already have a GP3 Black which allows for 60 FPS or 120, which can minimise Jello effect So to surmise, V2 has better Cam and better Battery, FC40 Lower cam, lesser battery, both use same Naza2 platform, not much differs between the 2 other than Cam and Battery..

I would estimate that the Wi-Fi range for the camera is about 200 to 300 yards; but the control range for the copter is considerably further. I have flown it out of range a couple of times but the fail safe always brings it back on its own when it loses contact. If you need longer range, probably the Phantom 2 Vision would be better for you; but it's considerably more money. On Youtube someone has posted an easy and inexpensive way to extend the range on the FC40. The Phantom 2 Vision has more range because of a larger battery and will fly for about 25 minutes. There's something posted on Youtube that will answer all your questions. Good luck.

Go to DJI.Com. Then click on Support and then Downloads under the FC40 There is a brand new manual out as of 3/21/2014 and it's years ahead of the old ones.
