This gimbal performs amazingly well, with one giant caveat: DJI has replaced the GoPro Hero data bus with a crappy RIBBON CABLE!!! Production should stop immediately!!!! The flimsy cable MIGHT last a handful of flights, but DJI is obviously aware of the issue as they now generously include one additional replacement ribbon cable with the shipped unit. While the rumors fly on all the forums, all I know is this: I would've gladly paid a slightly higher amount on the front end to save myself from having to deal with this obvious band-aid on the back end.

Get it together DJI & GoPro! Whatever the issue is, your livelihood hangs in the balance! This market is clamoring for competitors, and this crappy offering has got us all begging for a new contender! Get serious about it and get it fixed! And please.... offer the rest of us a reasonable retrofit for this obvious misstep you've offered to the market!

Excellent product with one MAJOR design flaw: no quick release for the GoPro. Anybody involved in video production realizes that cameras need to change mounts several times a day. Having to stop production to take out a 2mm hex wrench to take the two screws out (don't drop them in the grass!) to remove the camera is ridiculous. This enormous oversight is responsible for 3 instead of 5 stars. Fix that DJI and you have a perfect product.

Incredible piece of technology. Provides amazingly stable footage. If you are looking to use this with the Phantom 1. You need to get either the Phantom Upgrade Board or the DJI PMU (power management unit) along with the H3-3D Version that comes with the GCU (Gimbal Control Unit. Also if you search for "DJI part 49" you'll find their special H3-3D adapter kit for Phantom 1 that includes longer landing gear and a little piece that allows you to attach the h3-3d under the phantom.

Whats cool about the Phantom Upgrade board is that it take the place of the PMU and GCU so you save on weight but there is more soldering as you have to solder each of the four ESC/Motor combos to the Upgrade Board. Both cost about the same.

People have criticized this unit for being quite fragile. This is true, unfortunately thats the nature of this kind of delicate, precision, balanced technology. Sorry. If you can't handle not crashing your Drone than go back to buying the $25 RC helicopters from Walmart. This is for the big boys and girls to put on their birds to capture insane footage.

Straight up, I saw this gimbal right off the bat when I got into phantoms and thought I would never pay that much for a gimbal. Its essentially just as much as the phantom itself. So I went through some other 2 directional gimbals but the Yaw Wiggle (look it up) was too obvious. I went through 3 faulty DYS Smart 3-AXIS Alexmos gimbals that were a nightmare and then I finally realized that if I wanted truly professional stabilization, the Zenmuse is the way to go.

Get it. Love it. Be Careful with it. Always calibrate your compass and you'll be fine.

This thing blows my mind, but unlike the Phantom 2 itself, it is NOT durrable. Have some practice before you take it up in the air!

great gimbal. easy to set up and use. Had to get 60mm standoffs so it wouldn't show my props in the shot.

Aaaaand it broke... The piece that holds the GoPro to the gimbal snapped on its own. Maybe the thread lock on the screw ruined the plastic, not sure. Hopefully I can find a replacement. Other than that, this thing works great.

I'm using the Zenmuse H3-3D on my QAV540 v2. I've used AlexMOS SBGs (2-axis) with good luck previously. The performance of the H3-3D when married to a NAZA-M V2 is simply stunning. The stability of the video is amazing; I've flown in gusty 20-25kts winds that gave me motion sickness while flying FPV, yet the video produced was rock solid and smooth as can be.

A quick release for the camera would be nice, and a sturdier ribbon cable wouldn't hurt, but given the performance I'm not willing to knock it down a star for these wants.

I also build my own 3 axis gimbal but this Zenmuse is way different and super stable. If you not moving your multi, the image is like picture. Always level even with hard banking unlike other gimbal. Super neat and clean wiring.

If you need holder for zenmuse while traveling, the is a shapeways part that you can use: http://shpws.me/vvzR. Veyr useful.

all it takes is one hard landing or a crash from a few feet off the ground to mess up the gimbal.

The Gimbal works great and allows me to get smooth aerial photos from my DJI Phantom 2.
