As soon as I put this in, I was begging for more. Simply awesome. I thought I'd share what was on the liner notes for anybody interested:

I really dont see what all the fuss is about here. As a huge trance fan I recognize that there are all different styles and so everyones got their own tastes, but this cd was just dissapointing. First off, I really couldent classify it at all. I didnt sense any progressiveness or hard beats, and hardly any trance like tunes from what I could hear, either! I couldent chill...

As soon as I put this in, I was begging for more. Simply awesome. I thought I'd share what was on the liner notes for anybody interested:

"Born in El Salvador, raised on Maui and nicknamed for the mysterious bastard son of a legendary hawaiian king, Keoki arrived on the US mainland in 1988. He landed a job with TWA in New York tracking lost luggage. Though the gig allowed him to travel the world for free, it was while moonlighting as a busboy at Danceteria, a hot Manhattan nightclub, that Keoki saw the sights and heard the sounds that would change his life.

Fascinated by the powerful connection a DJ could make witha crowd, Keoki himself began to play records, putting his own distinctive spin on other srtists' music. Flamboyant as hell, he dubbed himself, "Superstar Dj" Keoki. Though it started as a lark, the "Superstar Dj" Keoki phenomenon quickly caught on. By the early nineties, the underground dance music scene had swelled to a critical mass.

As resident DJ at Manhattan's infamous Limelight, he was at the center of the 'club kid' phenomenon and on the cutting edge of all that was new in electronic music. The rave scene in America was born and Keoki, as one of the first traveling DJ's was thrust into the spotlight. The former baggage handler was soon jetting, first class, to perform everywhere. He discovered dramatic new ways to keep a crowd in the palm of his hands. His was a sonic sleight-of-hand in which funk could meet punk, and where a barking scooby doo would mix perfectly with a ranting Jimmy Swaggart, all underscored by an electronic beat.

A hook up with Moonshine music led to the release of a series of top-selling-DJ-mised albums including "Superstar DJ Keoki-All mixed up" and "Disco death race 2000" along with his originally-produced "Ego trip" album. Over a decade later at the beginning of a new millenium, with hundreds of thousands of records sold, Keoki is still one of the biggest crowd pullers in electronic music."

First off, I really couldent classify it at all. I didnt sense any progressiveness or hard beats, and hardly any trance like tunes from what I could hear, either! I couldent chill to it, it was mostly just noise. This is the only piece ive heard of keoki so I wont totally destroy it but..I wouldent reccomend it to anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well Done Keoki!!, October 25, 2002

This review is from: DJmixed.com (Audio CD)
Wow, I'm very surprized!! Keoki, after years of not putting out a Dj Mixed CD, comes back in good 'ol fasioned Keoki style!! Although he takes a different selection of music this time around, I loved it, and I will never give it up! This CD brings a wonderful blend of Trance, House and some other wonderful sounds together to make one of the best Dj Mixes I've heard in a while!! But, on the other hand, you should definitly listen to a few tracks before you buy it. If you don't like the "Breakbeat", don't buy it!!! I would have given this CD 5 stars, but I have a hard time feeling "Breakbeats".

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent, September 24, 2001

First of all if I didn't know who was mixing this CD I would of never known it was Keoki. It is a very different approach for the once promimnent DJ, I can't really bring myself to like it or dislike so thats a good thing I suppose... Oh well what can you do, "Big up the noise", "Expand the room", "Entracement",
"Seven Crossroads of the world" & "Walkaway" are good tracks, but try to listen to this one before you go buying it.

This is a pretty good cd. The last track is the best until the very end. I HATE the way this cd ends and usually bolt to stop my stop button so that I don't have to hear the last few seconds of the cd. If you have heard it before you know what I am talking about.

5.0 out of 5 stars off the hook, December 1, 2000

even though he's an arrogant f---, keoki lives up to the "superstar dj" name on this mix. his ability to mix a record and slowly build it up to a point of absolute musical perfection is unreal. the high point of this album is his mix of durango "5:55." the vocals on display here are what trance dreams are made of, building from nothing intopure bliss, with the words "i want you so" repeated. an must-have for any dance music fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keoki is a GOD, October 6, 2000

I could not believe how well done this masterpiece was. This CD draws you into Keoki's world and leaves you begging for more! I recognized his signature style right from the get go. I heard him play a couple times at the Lizard Lounge in Dallas last Spring and Winter and he's even better in person. The CD itself is a perfect balance of your Rave/Trance/Breaks genre's. My personal favorite is Number 8 Eclipse - Entrancement. Gosh, pop this track in your car and you can't help but to go 100 on the freeway weaving in and out of traffic...waving your hands in the air like you got glowsticks! I reccomend this CD to everyone... your once in a while clubbers to your hardcore ravers; this CD has I'm looking forward to others in the DJMixed.com compilation. Keoki Rules!
