5.0 out of 5 stars This book made my childhood, January 15, 2012
This review is from: DK Eyewitness Books: Future (Hardcover)
I read this book 8-10 years ago as a child. I was fascinated with the predictions, illustrations, and wonderment behind every invention and creation on every single page. I took this book to school with me for months and months, showing my friends the pictures and talking about each item like an expert friends with the scientists building such things. I truly believe this book got me interested in science, thinking about what could be possible in my future and that people were working on creating all these things, it was amazing to me. I went to bed at night inventing my own future. The creativity I gained from this book alone has stayed with me to date. Although my copy is gone, I can still imagine all the illustrations inside: the swimming pool in the middle of winter, the self-driving car and family in the back seat, the synthetic limbs and cloning. As a child, these things all seemed simply magical. Thank you for this book.

DK eyewitness books have always had a striking visual impact to any discerning reading and acquirer of knowledge in mechanically driven and what this book does is that it supplies the reader with extraordinary visions of the future through the ages and fantastic predictions of exciting technology to come from the 21st century and beyond in which It provides a speculative look at the technological, and environmental, biological developments of the natural world. In which is packed with original photography and artwork of visions that bring to life inventors through the ages. The future has always, been shrouded with speculation and guesswork of all these possibilities and problems that are showcased in this book of almost virtual reality in knowledge. Both past and future are examined without the gloom that other books are obtain to in which it presents the past with a gliding and an equal assimilation into the future with ease and technological data and readers can easily digest this book whilst sifting through what they want to read and be able to in an informative and reference manner make up their own conclusions about the world that hasn,t come yet. 5.0 out of 5 stars The Future?!, November 17, 2007
This review is from: DK Eyewitness Books: Future (Hardcover)
This book suggests what the future might be like based on developing technology in the present. It doesn't sound so rosy and much too technical. I'm sure the world will continue to still be the same old Earth we've always known with some changes for the better and for the worse - I hope! This book was a special request from some of my students who love the Eyewitness books. They thought this one would be great to add to the collection. I know they will enjoy it.
