Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Gr. 3-6. This is too big to fit on the nonfiction shelves, but its large size gives some of the illustrations real impact. Each double-page spread introduces a new subject, such as lightning, tornadoes, or wildfires. A paragraph of text introduces the topic, with other paragraphs serving as extended captions for the photographs--or occasionally for the diagrams--which make up the book's most impressive feature. Clear, colorful, and dramatic, the eye-catching photos will draw browsers as well as children seeking information for reports. Plenty of books offer more information on various aspects of weather, but even students researching specific topics will find themselves browsing widely through this impressive volume. An attractive book, particularly for visual learners. Carolyn Phelan

This review is from: Weather (DK Guides) (Paperback)
I am a reading tutor and am always encouraging students to stretch themselves. This book was chosen by my pen pal student sponsored by In 2 Books. It was a great choice. Easy to understand and read and the pictures are wonderful. We both learned a lot of things we did not know, especially about lightening.
