This is a great, easy book for young people interested in Robin Hood -- presents Robin Hood as the champion of the overtaxed and the bane of society's tax-supported elites. Level four easy reader -- lots of illustrations and some movie outtakes keep them reading along. Good glossary, includes: abbott, archery, ballad, camouflage, condemn, forfeit,...

Robin Hood
DK Readers: Robin Hood (Level 4: Proficient Readers) I was looking for a mild version of Robin Hood for a 4 year old. This one is a bit too rough for us. I'll keep it for when he gets older.

This is a great, easy book for young people interested in Robin Hood -- presents Robin Hood as the champion of the overtaxed and the bane of society's tax-supported elites.Level four easy reader -- lots of illustrations and some movie outtakes keep them reading along. Good glossary, includes: abbott, archery, ballad, camouflage, condemn, forfeit, friar, Lincoln Green... This good is fairly easy independent reading. If it's too easy for your child, try the DK Eyewitness Classics "Robin Hood" by Neil Philip which uses THESE SAME ILLUSTRATIONS, plus so much more. That one is much more a history of feudal Britain, with the Robin Hood legend woven through.

My four-year old loves listening to this book. DK does a great job of telling the story of Robin Hood's life while adding some additional facts that help it flow. It would be great for an older reader, too.
