This world atlas is divided into chapters that include North America, with an expanded section on the U.S.; Europe; Asia; South America; Africa; Australasia and Oceania; and Polar Regions. Grade 5 Up-This atlas is distinguished by its attractive graphics. For reference use, however, it is inferior to most of the other tools for this audience, especially Goode's World Atlas 19th Edition (Rand McNally, 1996). The main drawbacks are its limited detail (the DK Student Atlas indexes about 10,000 places as compared to over 30,000 in Goode's) and the small size of the maps.-SD
