This item is excellent for the customer looking to protect their iPod. I had an older version of this case for an original iPod I own, yes I am a trendsetter since I bought into the iPod before all the hype...just messing! This case like my other case (my older 10 gig iPod still looks brand new thanks to the older case from DLO)is excellent. I am a daily user of the iPod using it in the gym I have dropped it countless times and on the concrete and it has held up without a scratch. The clear plastic cover in the front does give minor very very light cosmetic scratches (for all you upset about minor cosmetic scratches i say dont be so anal these arent the end of the world and you need to move on with your life what you need to is to complain to Apple for making the case out of stainless steel not brushless stainless steel as well as the front being lucite or whatever it is that loves to be scratched) but this is to be expected and is more than okay considering if you drop it on the ground with no case your iPod will be dented and scuffed. The use of this case is excellent with all controls easily accessible as well as its multifunctional waist clip and arm band which I have used for numerous marathons. This case is highly recommended the only thing it needs is waterproofing but if you want that I recommend OTTERBOX.COM where I bought a waterproof case for my iPod mini for my runs outdoors.

Personally I love this product; I bought my first 3 years ago when my iPod was new. Because this iPod has buttons it needs a special case, it was the first an last of its type. No Apple uses the click wheel design. Nearly all of the cases out there are for the click wheel or they claim to be universal. The Universal design is usually a simply shield over the touch sensitive parts. This design is more of a custom fit for the 3G model.I'm a big guy with large arms and believe it or not the arm strap actually works. When I'm at the gym a good fit is all I care about. The one size fits all really works with this case. Why buy this case hold or any iPod case holder at all? My wife dropped here iPod on a hardwood floor cracking the screen and something else inside. It cost her $200 bucks to repair her iPod. So I bought her this hard to find case. The price is low but even if it was $50 it would still be worth it. The case is padded and will cushion the blow from a fall. I can't guarantee that it will protect against a hardwood floor impact, but it's better than nothing. The color is classic, everyone looks good in black.

Not so great clip,

I bought this product because I needed somethng to hold my iPod while I was working out and running. It comes with an arm band which secures nicely but is a little awkward for me. The clip is absolutely useless if you are trying to run because it swivels. I do like the jacket because it protects my iPod wonderfully. The downside is it is a little bulky.
