The Action Jacket is worth every penny of the $29.95 I paid for it at Best Buy, which makes it an exceptional value at the pice it's offered for on Amazon. It fits the 3G Nano like a glove, protects it from my clumsy handling, and allows me to attach the iPod by clip or or armband, depending on my activity, which is usually at the gym in the free weight room or on the cardio equipment. There's a cut-out for the "tuning wheel", so the jacket doesn't interfere with changing somgs or adjusting volume. I consider the Action Jacket a must-have accessory.

This will be a spare since I'll be ordering a different model. I wondered, how would this work if the clip stays connected? You use the clip to attach the armband. I do not like that at all. I can care less about Nike+.

Others I saw might be too small for my arm according to reviews or cheaply made. This one fits, but I'd rather just clip it to my shorts that use it clipped to my arm.

After I ordered this one, I saw a better rated option. For the same price (regular or discounted) Marware offers a much better package. Much more versatile.

Granted this one is quality compared to all the rest out there. The bulky clip simply ruined it for me. I thought it was the only good option until I stumbled upon it's competitor.

It protects the Nano nicely and has a perfectly sized opening for the wheel. My only complaint would be that I would like to see a detachable belt-clip. Since I, like most normal human beings, do not sport the holster look (e.g., blackberry or cell phone (or both) on the hip), I usually keep the Nano in my pocket. The clip on the back of the case just adds more clutter. It it were detachable, the jacketed Nano would fit into jeans pockets much more comfortably.

When I researched jackets for my new iPod, I learned that the model offered by Apple was less than desireable due to the scratches it added to the rear surface of iPods but also in its user-friendliness. This jacket was recommended by several people on the Apple product boards as well as here on Amazon. I love the fact that it can be used as a clip alone or in conjunction with the arm band. It has protected my iPod very well and I have kept it on since I purchased it. My only regret and/or suggestion to the manufacturer would be to allow the clip to turn a full 360° so that you can face the iPod in any direction you want. The clip has a clicking resistance so that it won't spin freely, but I would love to be able to read the iPod for time or music selections without having to unclip it. Other than that, I would keep everything the same. I absolutely love it!

Overall this is a great product for exercising with the 3rd gen Nano. I even lost the armband and the company shipped a new one for free! The down-sides are that it does not work well with the Nike plus plug-in (in fact my iPod flew out of the case when running) but I found that if I clip it upside down to the armband it remains snugly in the case. Also, the clip would be better if it was able to rotate 360 degrees. Other than that, it has been a great product. Having the option to use with or without the armband is a definite plus-I can even clip it to my watch band without any problems if I don't want to use the armband.

I am a medium built female and the arm band is very big. The velcro is not long enough so I can't adjust it properly. I ended up using the armband from another product. The housing for the ipod is good and I use the clip without the armband most times.

The product look fine until you try to insert the ipod inside it. The ipod doesn't fit tightly up to the top but rather shifts down such that the touch wheel is somewhat below the plastic opening. In this configuration you can't see nor touch the Play/Pause botton and you can't close the Jacket from bottom. You can stretch the bottom of the jacket but this distort the plastic unpleasantly. Clearly that wasn't the right way to design this product, and I don't understand why the company let this product out that way and didn't make it longer for the ipod to fit in.
The solution I found is to cut the top of the Jacket with a box cutter knife and this way the ipod can stick out a tad from the top of the jacket. Clearly that isn't suppose to be like that, and for the relatively high price of this product I would defenetaly expect something else.

I purchased this wanting a low profile armband for working out. This is by far not that. It clips onto the armband and puts the ipod way out from arm. It is also very loose. Also the Ipod does not fit in the case correctly. I do not recommend!!!

This item came as advertised....the problem others have mentioned about the lower part of the case making it difficult to get to the play/pause button is true....I have the ipod shoved as far into the case as possible and it still takes a little effort. Armband is pretty tight, and I don't have large arms, but I guess that means it will stay put. Overall, I would recommend at this price point.

I purchased this case for my iPod Nano several years back and used it when working out. After about three years, the clip on the back broke but I had liked it overall so bought another that I have now had for about a year. For the price, and the amount I had used it, I was ok with needing to replace it after 3 years. I really like the look of the case and the fact that is light weight. The only downfall I have found is that if I clip it on to my shorts, rather than on to the included arm band, it can cause the clip to rub against the skin a bit when running. This could be avoided by just using the armband instead.
