DLO PowerBug Charger/Dock for iPod shuffle 2nd Generation (White)

A few months ago I needed to replace my broken shuffle dock. After trying the IncipioBud (which I didn't care for) I tried the PowerBug. So far, I adore it and have absolutely no complaints. However, considering the poor product description, it was more a lucky break than an informed decision.

As shown in the picture above, the PowerBug comes in two pieces: the little white charger unit (the "bug") and a usb cable that connects from the "bug" to the shuffle. This means your shuffle can be plugged into the wall and charged anywhere, anytime; it also means the usb cable can be removed from the "bug" and plugged into the computer, allowing your shuffle to be charged and synced in the standard manner.

So, no -- this isn't a stand-your-shuffle-up-on-it dock, but it will do the same job, as well as allowing it to be charged in a standard wall plug. Better yet -- at least for me -- the "bug" also seems to be compatible with the usb cable for my older video ipod, allowing me a lot of charging options both at home and while traveling.

Be warned - there's no guarantee they won't change the design or that plugging your own non-shuffle usb device into the "bug" won't cause it to blow up. However, until they provide an decent official product description, I can only hope this will be helpful.

I bought this because it was cheap and Prime Available.
to start off, Amazon said it was going to be the prime 2 day shipping, took longer than that. After I open up the dented package, the inner box of the DLO PowerBug (DLO) its in preety good shape, and looks like the apple usb to jack connector but once you connect it. . .

the shuffle does not seem to recognize any power coming in. the little LED light is neither orange, green, or red.
after a while of messing around forcing it to connect to the PC the LED does come on but not 100% guaranteed.

The USB to Wall outlet is horrible does not work at all only for a couple of seconds then it goes out.


another thing I would like to mention is that the connection end to the Ipod Shuffle is really weird and has like 3 hooks that require the ipod to be forced into it.

If I could go back, I would NEVER have purchased it.

I'm so glad I bought this. My stupid iPod shuffle (1st Generation) sometimes doesn't show up in my iTunes when plugged into my computer, so at least this way, I can still charge it and use it.

The only thing is that there are no instructions. It's very easy to figure out, except the first time I used it, I had it connected wrong, so obviously, my iPod didn't charge. They could've at least included a picture (which they do with the 2nd gen. shuffle) b/c you connect each one differently. But once I figured it out, it charged very quickly. (you connect the 1st gen. shuffle directly to the adapter that goes in the outlet -- plugs in where the cord is for the 2nd gen. one).

bought three of these. One never worked and the second stopped working the first week I got it. Total waste of money!

I purchased this product for my wife. She is deployed to Afghanistan at the moment and lost her USB cord for her shuffle so I bought this as a replacement for her and it didn't work. Waste of my money!

It arrived in a timely fashion, and it works exactly as it should. The only concern I had, was when you insert the USB end of the cable into the adapter, I doesn't go all the way in, but it doesn't appear to affect the functionality of it, but otherwise, no complaints.

This item is a compact way to charge your shuffle on the go! It more than double the price at BB, and at other stores, so this is a great price. It fits in the palm of your hand.

The reviewer below did not read, or did not understand, the product description, and certainly did not know what this product costs elsewhere.

Our iPod shuffle is the newest model -- 4th generation...Unfortunately, this charger doesn't work with it...the cable end that should go into the iPod does not look like the picture, which shows a plain male connection...the one that came with the charger has a white molded plastic square around the male connection which does not allow it to connect to the unit...this product is useless and we'll ask to return it -- hence the 1 star.

Shipping, on the other hand, was quick and efficient. Hopefully, a return will go as well.

I emailed Amazon but they want me to send this back - it's not the same thing in picture. It has a plastic clip piece around the end that prevents the stick piece from going in to charge. I have the 2nd generation shuffle. This just simply doesn't fit. I am frustrated beyond belief because it was their mistake and they say- my only option is to return it and then reorder - the same item??? I want the item in the picture - the one I ordered - the one that works with the second generation Ipod.

this product is great it does exactly what its made for. the wall plug make charging my i pod shuffle more convenient as im on wrk i can plug it into an outlet cause there isn't any pc around. this product is worth buying!!!!
