3.0 out of 5 stars A bit fussy but can be a good solution, March 20, 2010

This review is from: DLink HD Media Player 802.11G 54MBPS (Electronics)
For someone who wishes to display video files from a remote PC or home server this can be a good display solution. We can store the file on a network-connected hard drive then display the video on our HDTV via the Medialounge wireless connection. Alternatively, the files can be put on a USB thumb drive and plugged into the front of the Medialounge, which is how we used to do it before getting the network hard drive, or your PC hard drive can be accessed through wireless. Once we got the connection settings right, it worked real well; however, it is annoying that only the first 6 to 8 characters of the file name will appear for selection, so some long file names have to be changed.

2.0 out of 5 stars Caution! Does not do photos in HD, November 29, 2007
This review is from: DLink HD Media Player 802.11G 54MBPS (Electronics)
After months of trying various combinations of settings, and having email exchanges with D-Link Technical Support, they finally admitted that the DSM-520 does NOT do photos in HD. It downsizes them to DVD quality. My 1600 x 1200 photos do not look great on our big screen HD TV - a big disappointment.
