Very easy to install.

They work well over all the areas I have walked: inside on tile, wood floors, and carpet; and outside over sidewalks, parking lots, and into and out of buildings.

Who'd a thunk... being able to obtain the Duro-med Universal Walker Glides from Amazon (or through Amazon). The product was delivered at a rather rapid pace AND put to work immediately. The Product is sturdy BUT after much use on a walker they DO need to be replaced and it is a great pleasure AND service to be able to find them at this site AND at a relatively better price than from most medical supply stores. For any one using a walker these gliders work so much better than the "Tennis Balls" that many people put on the rear stands.

These things are great. Especially if you move around a lot. They last 50x longer than tennis balls(my educated guess). They glide over every surface very easily. The way they are designed make it safer for you because it stabilizes the walker so it cannot go backwards. Otherwise, not much more to say. They work as advertised and they are a lot cheaper than other glides on this site!

I purchased these glides to help my 97-year old father-in-law use his walker more effectively. The glides are more substantial than they appear in the picture and are of very high quality nylon. They attach to the walker easily and securely. The glides made using the walker much easier, and work well on both carpeted and wood floors (they did not scratch the wood flooring); we have not yet tried them on concrete sidewalks or other surfaces. The real review, however, is from my father-in-law, who liked the glides right from the start and found that it made it easier for him to use his walker (the glides had replaced tennis balls). He commented that the glides enabled him to go faster and with less effort than the tennis ball-equipped walker, and that the walker was still just as secure to use. The items arrived in excellent condition within a few days of placing the order. Update: my father-in-law has now used these glides on multiple outdoor surfaces (concrete, roadways, grass) and says that they do indeed work very well on all of them and make it much easier for him to get around.

My mother (Rosie Mae)has chronic pain in several areas of her body and has had to use a walker for the past 3 years, and she also has an electronic pain control mechanism implanted in her back. When she first got her walker, it had plastic inserts in the rear legs, but then, one of them popped out and was lost "somewhere". Many people told her to use tennis balls, but I was wondering how to handle her using her walker outside and cleaning those dirty tennis balls afterwards. I logged on and entered the words "walker accessories" in the search bar. When I saw these "walker glides" I thought first about the design..curved like a ski. Perfect! I got the glides and put them on her walker, she took off! "Hey, I like these here!", she said. My joy comes in making my Mom comfortable and happy in whatever way I can, and the walker glides definitely made an impression on both of us. She's still in much pain, and on serious pain medication, but at least she can move smoothly about when she needs to. [...].

I purchsed these walker gliders for a new indoor walker for my husband, who has MS. They fit wonderfully on the walker and glide smoothly over the carpet. Installation was a breeze, although it did require a Phillips screwdriver.

After my hip replacement, I had to use a walker to get around for 6 weeks. I the standard glider feet on my walker wore down rapidly, and I had trouble walking into stores with the walker's back feet catching on the rugs just inside the door and pulling them up. I replaced the original gliders with these. They were great. I slid right over most of the rugs and carpets just inside the doors. A few still caught, but it was much better. The only problem I had was doing my physical therapy involved walking down the street and back. After about 3-4 weeks of walking outdoors on the sidewalk and street, every day for at least 30 minutes the gliders had worn a little thin and needed replacing.

I bought a pair of these for my boss because the tennis balls were always wearing out and made it difficult for her to move around. She told me she was sitting in a doctor's ofc waiting area where another patient had a pair on his. She asked him about them and he couldn't say enough good, so when she described them I did an internet search and found them here on Amazon.com. Now that she has used them she wants another set so I am going to buy them for her. On a separate note, my friend just had knee replacement surgery and I told her about it, so I'm going to buy her a pair as well for her to try. What a great invention!
