5.0 out of 5 stars Diamond Stone, May 2, 2010

This review is from: DMT D6EF 6-Inch Dia-Sharp Double-Sided Extra-Fine/Fine Bench Stone (Tools & Home Improvement)
I am a Chef, and I don't know why it took me so long to get a diamond stone to sharpen my knives, but making this purchase it one of the best purchases I have made. It gets my knives sharper and in less time than using a japanese wet stone. If you cook professionally or just love cooking period, you need to purchase this stone to keep your knives sharp, it will make cooking more enjoyable and prep in less time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect combination stone for maintenance of sharp blades, October 14, 2011

This review is from: DMT D6EF 6-Inch Dia-Sharp Double-Sided Extra-Fine/Fine Bench Stone (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've used all kinds of sharpening tools, from oilstones to waterstones to various sanders and grinders. I like this one a lot, because it grinds quicker than the same grit in any other abrasive, thanks to diamonds. It has Fine 600 and Extra fine 1200 grit which is good for maintaining knives (but not restoring damaged or chipped blades, you need a coarser stone say 300 grit). If you want to keep your knives sharp with minimal effort, this will do it for you. Price is a little high because of diamond grit, but it lasts forever so it's a good deal.
