This review is from: DMZ Vol. 5: The Hidden War (Paperback)
Although this volume looks like another group of throw-away, half-finished story arcs, it is actually a fairly nice breakup of the overall narrative. Additionally, this has some of the best art in the series. Shame that there can't be a larger selection of people drawing in this world.

I was a bit worried about this TPB because Matty wasn't in it, but upon finishing I was very happy I'd gotten past my worries. The artists involved use very emotional styles. Perfect for everyone that has followed the DMZ so far.

DMZ- Hidden Wars,
This review is from: DMZ Vol. 5: The Hidden War (Paperback)
I should preface any remark with my exceptional regard for Brian Wood in producing what I consider to be unsurpassed work with the DMZ series. But this volume falls short of actualizing the obvious intent of showcasing the interesting characters populating Matty's world. I carefully picked over the previous volumes, allowing extra time to take in the art and story....savor it if you will. Vol 5 art is messy... actually some of Vol4 was kind of mess too. Anyway, It's still worth buy..but it isn't as good as others in the series.
