Great diet. Used it in the 1970s with easy, hunger free, weight loss. Atkins cites Stillman for creating a prototype for Atkins' popular high protein - low carb diet, which allows greater fat intake. However, for those who have difficulty losing weight with higher fat intake, Atkins recommends a lower fat approach, which he doesn't clearly describe. This book succinctly defines such an approach. Please REPRINT this wonderful book, recommended by my obstetrician in the 1970s

I used this diet back in the 70's. Weight loss was incredible. It was so easy. Now that high-protein diets are back, his beat all I've seen so far. This book needs to be republished!

Outstanding,Dr. Stillman give you facts to help "scare" the fat off you. I loss 20lbs the first week with a total loss of 100lbs in six months and have kept it off. Because of my results and the inprovement of my health this book should be back in print.

I went on this diet in 1975 when I weighed 250lbs. I dropped 20 pounds the first week--I stay on the diet for about 3 months and weighed 170lb when I got married. 25years later I weigh 190lbs. I was never hungary on this diet and to keep my sanity, I usually ate normally on Sundays.

Please reprint this wonderful book so that everyone can get a copy. I know that low carbing is "out" these days, but only a month on this program will show such great results in your body and energy level. It's basically a pure protien diet, with little to no fat or carbs, so you can imagine how blah the food choices are (eggs and lean meats). Also, I do think that this should be a short term program, followed no more than one month (all that protien is hard on the kidneys!). I had about 40 pounds to lose and lost 28 in one month. During that month I researched what healthy eating entails so that I could keep losing and not gain anything back. That worked fine for me. Will power is needed, the food choices are silm ang get old quick, but the fast track to health with ease makes it worth it. Please reprint this book so that every dieter can enjoy it!!

Sept.8,1978 A doctor told me to buy this book....by June 0f 1979 I had lost 97lbs. and couldn't loose any more!I only wanted two things to happen to me; for someone to tell me I didn't need to loose any more weight, and for someone not to recognize me. Both things happened! Its been over 19yrs and I am going to start the diet again, as I had three more babies and grew again. It works and I felt great!

Excellent, inspiring, & common sense book that inspired me to loose over 80lbs in less than a year. Never thought I could do it but this book showed me how and inspired me to do it. Where are you Dr. Stillman - Where is your publisher? Reprint asap!

Wonderful book. Best diet ever. So easy. So satisfying. So inspiring. Please consider reprinting. The protien diets are back in full force, and yours is the best. I lost 15 lbs in 2 week and felt so good, I went on 2 more weeks and lost a total of 25 lbs. I also lost my book somehow and have looked everywhere for a new one. PLEASE MAKE A COMEBACK!!

I purchased this book when it was new and I believe Jackie Gleason needed to lose weight I need to purchase it again as I cant remember it by memory I am now 66 yrs old. However, in my younger years I lost 40 lbs in 6 weeks which is the most I ever lost. Now I need to reduce again I want to obtain the book I dont know what happened to the copy I once had. It is great because it is mostly protein and you can eat whatever you like and with it 8 glasses of water or more. I chose eggs, hardboiled, and cantelope or cottage cheese. The weight fell off. I believe Jackie Gleason chose Martinis and Lost also.

I started out at about 180 lbs, and I lost about 45 lbs very quickly, in about 4 wks. back in 2003. Not only does this diet help you to loose weight, it literally melts the fat off your body! it's amazing! I actually got the book at my local library so check your local library to see if they might carry it.
