I'm usuing the DOD 270 to route an acoustic/electric mandolin and a 12-string acousitc guitar with an external Fishman pickup into the same line-out. Did not experience any flaws in quality control, it seems to work as it should. I have not noticed any coloring of my sound. I have had problems with the pedal making a "pop" sound when I switch if I'm running it into a PA or into my Firepod. The sound guy at one open mic complained that I needed to warn him if I was going to switch so that he could mute my channel. I resolved this issue by simply running the line through my tuning pedal AFTER the box- I flip the pedal on (effecitvely muting my signal) and then hit the A/B box. I will note that one feature (it's ONLY feature lol) that I really like about it is that it does not require a battery or A/C adapter, which is one of the main reasons I bought it. The main reason I bought it was the price. I went to a local music store and the only A/B box they had cost $80+, which (note to manufacturers) is absolutely INSANE for an A/B box. I think eventually I'm going to save up for the BBE acoustic pre-amp, as it has 2 channels, an audio expander and a line balance, but there's no way I'll sell this little guy, he's a keeper!

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid, durable piece of kit, February 12, 2007
This review is from: DOD AC270 AB Router Pedal
I have had a DOD 270 A/B box for nearly 20 years and it still works perfectly. I recently bought one for convenience in my studio set up. It's the most simple device imaginable, without any unncessary bells or whistles. It doesn't need a power supply unit (or batteries), contrary to some of the info online.

I use it in a live situation for switching my guitar between a tuner and an amp. And in studio, I have two different guitars permanently plugged into the one source (a Pod XT) and switch the opposite way...

Tough as old boots, inexpensive and very useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Miniature Cinder Block, September 17, 2010

Excellent box...switches with ease and no color to your sound. The thing is an absolute brick - heavy duty, solid. You could throw this thing through your living room wall, pick it up in your bedroom, plug it back in and recommence rocking.
