Product Description

Made from bookbinding cloth and constructed using traditional bookbinding techniques, the DODOcase gives your Kindle Fire the look of a hard-bound book, providing superior protection and discouraging theft. The case cradles your Kindle in a strong, yet eco-friendly bamboo tray, folds back for use as a stand, and features sound channels to direct audio from the speakers for good sound quality, even in the case.

The hardest part when buying your hot, new tech gadget is pairing it with the perfect accessory. Some cases hit the right price point, but tend to lack in functionality and protection. Other cases may cost as much as the device itself. For me, I've yet to see a Kindle Fire case offering a happy medium between price and utility.

At least, until now. San Francisco-based DODOcase have made an awesome cover that deserves to have more visibility on Amazon.com's Kindle Fire accessory page.

The Kindle Fire iteration of the DODOcase looks and feels exactly like a Moleskine notebook (right down to the elastic strap holding it together). Open up the case, and you'll find a bamboo tray to slip your device in. Each corner of the cradle has four rubber stops to prevent your Fire from popping out, although I'd recommend staying away from an "informal" test to confirm said snugness (unless you want a quick trip to Kindle support over a broken screen). Recesses on either side of the unit prevent issues with muffled sound from the speakers or an accidental press on the power button.

If there is a slight downside, it takes a bit of practice to find the "sweet spot" if you want to use your DODOcase as a stand. It took me two or three tries before my case stood up on its own. Part of this may be due to the heft of the Fire itself, but the construction of the DODOcase doesn't offer the same adjustments like the AmazonBasics Leather Folio Cover with Multi-Angle Adjustable Stand for Kindle Fire (Black) or the CaseCrown series of covers.

That said, I've found my DODOcase offers more for my money than my Belkin Verve Tab Folio ever did. It's stylish, fair-priced, and offers solid protection for the Kindle Fire. Unless you're looking for a case that has a sturdier stand, this is the one to beat.

I finally realized why people lust over the DODO cases. After getting one for my Kindle Fire, I'll recommend them to anyone now. Here is my haiku review:

The case is nice and definitely well made. It does look almost exactly like a moleskin journal. The bamboo cradle fits very snuggly and the cutouts don't seem to degrade the speaker quality. The only downside is that it's tricky to get the case to work as a stand, not a big deal for me since I prefer to hold it, and the dodo patch on the inside cover from the picture is missing (again, not a big deal, but the picture should match the product)

I am in love with my DODOcase. It fits my kindle fire nice and snugly. I never have to worry about it calling out. On the corners is a really nice rubber so that you don't scratch the corners of youe Kindle while putting it in the case.

It has a nice would that surrounds the kindle completely, which protects the kindle from scratches while in your bag. The only part that is exposed when closed is the bottom where you would plug in the kindle to charge it. You do not have to remove the case to charge, which I love.

I really love hardcover books, and when I went to a kindle, I missed the feeling of holding a book in my hands and always worried about dropping my Kindle. With my DODOcase I no longer have to worry about that. I get the feeling of holding a book, while having the ability of carrying 6000 books with me.

My DODOcase did come with the inside book plate. I know that from reviews that I read that some peoples didn't but mine did. It also came with a sticker that says DODOcase, which I stick on my laptop.

I will never own another case other than the DODOcase!

I bought one of these cases for my girlfriends Kindle Fire, and the quality was amazing. The wood is nice and solid, and the coloring really looks great. After using it on my girlfriends Kindle, I went and bought another for my mom.

They may be slightly more pricy than other cases, but they are solid, look great, and well worth the extra money. If you buy, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely case. Looks really slick...just like a Moleskine notebook. Feels very safe in the case and is much more cosmetically pleasing than similar cases.
