One of his best!, November 4, 2002
I liked this album much better than his first solo effort. This album and the title song were big hits on Christian stations. Best songs are Doer of the Word (which features his former America band mate Gerry Beckley), Power and Glory, and I Believe In Miracles. A very good album, highly recommended if you like CCM!

GOOD SOLO EFFORT FROM DAN, June 14, 2000
This review is from: DOER OF THE WORD (Audio CD)
I am a long time fan of America and I think I have listened to basically all of their albums including Gerry Beckley's solo "Go Van Gan" in 1995. Therefore Dan Peek's solo albums are what I've been pursuing since 1977 but none were released here in Hong Kong, my residence. I eventually bought "Doer Of The Word" in Japan while I toured there early last year.
Overall speaking I would only say it is just average materials from Dan comparing to his works in the America days where album tracks like "Glad To See You" already reflected his gospel inclination.
In this CD, most of the songs are fluent with a simple & direct melody. It was quite pleasant listening to them but got bored quickly after 4 to 5 listens. Better tracks are "Doer Of the Word", "Holy Spirit", "Your Father Loves You" & "Redeemer". The last trcak which was a live recording also stood out with a strong country rock beat not too similar to the other tracks.
My biggest compliant though is the length of the CD which runs just around 33 minutes & I bought it at US$24. Not a good bargain indeed.
Anyway I'm still considering buying his other CDs.
