This spiral-bound pocket file is just the handiest system to organize and keep your tax records! It has 12 color coded sleeve pockets, each labeled with the name of the records & receipts that go there. Printed on each of these pockets are brief descriptions of the tax deductions, highlighting the main points of, say, "Interest", "Charitable Contributions", "Adjustments to Income", etc. They even name the IRS publication number that you can refer to if you need more info. They tried to think of everything you might need in a short summary.

The file is designed to be used throughout the year, but I use it only at the end of the year. I take all my receipts, paycheck stubs, notes to myself, etc, and categorize them into each pocket all in one sitting. The color coding helps this process. Then I bring it all to my tax lady, who is always impressed with this system and how easy it is to fill out the tax returns, going through each pocket, one by one. Everything is there, more or less in the same order IRS laid out the 1040 and Sched A forms. You simply go through each pocket, total it up, and enter it on the correct line.

I make two changes to the Dome file every year:
I change the first pocket to "Income", and I add "paycheck stubs" to the last pocket. In the first pocket I put our W-2's, interest income statements and dividend statements. The last pocket stores the rest of our income records. In this way the overall file holds both deductions AND income, so our 1040 and Sched A records are compiled in one place.

Everything organized in one place, pockets to keep receipts, easy to use while filling out returns, handy format for filing it all away at the end of the year.

I've used this product for many years and don't know what I'd do without it. As I receive income, make a tax deductible expenditure or donation, or receive tax summaries, I stick the receipt/notice into the appropriate pocket; at tax time I don't have to hunt for anything--everything I need is already there and categorized.

After my taxes are done, I write the year on the cover and store in a safe place. I have no problem placing my hands on any year's tax records should I be audited or just have a question on "how I did it last year".

Very easy to use and invaluable as a way to keep tax records in order.

I have had one of these files for years and years. It was finally getting worn out. So glad to have found it again, and with a durable plastic cover also.

During the year I put all my receipts in the various pockets and when tax time comes I am all ready.

LOVE IT!!!!!!
