I read this book many many years ago. ! remember when dr tom died, the radio station that announced his deathplayed "hang down your head tom dooley" right after the announcement. i remember my mother commenting that that wasnt nice, and it wasnt. i was knee high to a grasshopper then. A few years ago i found this book in a used book store in manhattan, purchased it, re-read it, passed it on, and realized that i would want to have a copy to keep for myself, to re-read from time to time and pass it along again someday. |
