Better than Mechanix,

I have used the Original Mechanix glove that cost $25 at Home Depot and wore them out within weeks. The DeWalt DPG20XL are by far a much better work glove. Their is an extra layer of material between the index finger and the thumb. That helps the glove last longer, protects the hand better, and provides better grip because that area is textured. There is also an elastic strip at the wrist that keeps dirt, sand, wood chips, etc. from getting into the glove when working. Other than that, the Mechanix glove and the DeWalt glove have the same Synthetic leather finger tips and elastic material on the back of the hand.
I would recommend these gloves to anyone, and I would use them instead of Mechanix gloves if I had a choice between the two.

This review is from: Dewalt DPG20XL All Purpose Synthetic Leather Palm Spandex Back Velcro Wrist Work Glove, X-Large (Tools & Home Improvement)
The Dewalt is a slightly better value than the Yougstown gloves. But it is also a simpler more basic glove. These should be reasonably durable for dirty work and masonry. The XL size in Dewalt seems to fit about like the 2XL in the Youngstown. In general the synthetic material palms wear more quickly than leather but they do not suffer as badly as leather from repeated wet/dry and dirty cycles.

They stain everything,

This review is from: Dewalt DPG20L All Purpose Synthetic Leather Palm Spandex Back Velcro Wrist Work Glove, Large (Tools & Home Improvement)
These gloves might work out OK if all you plan on doing is digging in the yard or something, but if you're going to be handling materials that might be lacquered, painted, or otherwise finished, beware that the material on the palms pills up and leaves big black smudges all over everything. I think I'll stick to the all-leather cheapies.
