Any plastic safety glasses are consumables around the shop. I like to try
to find items that have good optical clarity, impact resistance and are
comfortable to wear. I also try to get all this without spending a huge
amount of money. Now my over 44 eyes are changing somewhat. I need some help and decided to try these. They work brilliantly and are available in various strengths. I do like the 2.0 for really close work, but I bought a couple of 1.5 from the same seller. For me, the 1.5 is even better for general shop work and seems very close to my eyeglass prescription. I find the magnifiers to be a good size. The optical clarity is very good for this price level. The glasses fit me well and are comfortable to leave on for hours. Like any plastic lens, you need to be careful or you will scratch them. I do like the neoprene "sock" provided to protect them when not wearing. Warm running water and a good microfiber cloth are all I use to keep them very clean. If you are a bit careful they will last a long time. For the money, it is no big problem to keep a couple of spares and replace them if/when needed. I am a serious professional user, the home person/hobbyist may not need more than one pair for a very long time. I am very happy with this product and intend to buy more from the same seller. AAA Industrial Supply has provided excellent, fast service. If you need safety glasses with magnifiers, try this product before spending a lot more money on prescription safety glasses.

Previous review seems picky. The only reason I didn't give the glasses 5 stars is that I would like a larger magnification area, so you have to move your head some when sighting in a line cutting miters, but I have to do that with my cheapo reading glasses perched on the end of my nose. Now, sawdust stays out of my eyes and I can SEE what I need without changing glasses all day. I also have the 215 Smoked lenses and they rock on sunny days.

Bottom line: Buy 2 of each !

Ordered Dewalt RX Safety Glasses from AAA Industrial Supply thru Amazon.com I had questions and the company responded promptly and sent me what I needed in a respectable amount of time. These glasses save me the hassle of having to use two pair of glasses and they hold up well, i.e. they do not scratch easily. It is a lot cheaper to replace a set of these every month or two rather than ruin my $150 prescription safety glasses, which the company only supplies once a year. I purchased these because I need reading glasses for close work when I where my contact lenses. My job requires me to wear safety glasses at all times and it's very cumbersome to wear my reading glasses under my old safety glasses. With these Dewalt glasses I can forget about the reading glasses and use the built in bi-focal lenses. I was skeptical about these before I purchased but now that I have them I really like them and won't go back to regular safety glasses again. Well worth the money.

These glasses do an excellent job of eye protection and the built-in reading glasses are invaluable in letting me see my work. Considering the relatively low price I feel they represent a great value. My only complaint is that I wish they covered a bit more of the eye area. They protect eyes fine, but the area below the eye can be very sensitive and it would be nice if they came down a bit more.

I have been using these glasses for 2 years and can't do without them.
Since having surgery to correct my distance vision, my close up vision has gone to pot. As a carpenter, I was finding it hard to do close up work or read a tape measure until I found these great glasses. Now I can see without even giving it a second thought, and the glasses have prevented eye injury on several occasions.
Plus, they look great!
I'm getting two new pair in case I lose the ones I have.

I have been hanging my reading glasses around my neck when Im working for years. Smashing them often. Finally a pair of safety glasses with the magnification I need when I need it. Good idea dewalt. Oh bye the way there better than most of my ten dollar reading glasses.

I've never seen bifocal safety glasses before and liked the idea. It was a huge shock to glance at the tape measure and be able to read it without straining. They work great. My only issue is that, in my opinion, the magnified portion could be a little smaller. When in use, I find myself trying to slide them down slightly so that I'm not looking through the magnified portion when doing anything else besides reading.

These safety glasses meet a great need. I've thought for years somebody should make them. With these you don't have to wear either reading glasses with safety glasses or expensive progressive prescription glasses.

The DeWalt 1.5 mags work well and are fairly priced. I've been using similar products for years and it reallly helps for close work like mitering. If I could change anything on these it would be to make the "cheater" section a little bigger which would help a lot with overhead jobs like ceiling wiring (need yoga to get your neck tipped back far enough). Also, for me, I wish the frames were a narrower - they are a little loose. Great for the fatheads you work with though. Overall, good product & highly recommended.
