DR Phosphor Bronze Strings,

I have been using these strings for about 12 years. They sound good as soon as I am done putting them on. Very little buzzing. Some strings take a day or so to "settle down". That is what I like about the DR's. They sound good from the start and have an above average lifespan. Best all around string I have found.

I am not the best at guitar playing but these strings sound great and they feel great as you are playing. I would advise anyone to give them a try if they are looking for something new.

I have been faithfully using DR strings now for as many as 10 plus years. I play professionally and need strings that hold up stay in tune and have a true sound. The biggest part I love about them is they are rare to break. In fact over the years using them I can bearly recall maybe 1 time I broke an high E.I joined established rock band playing every weekend 3 YEARS AGO. The lead guitar player left and I was the new guy. I have always carried 1 guitar with me my whole professional life (Now age 50) my 1977 ( I bought new)Les Paul custom deluxe was all I ever used or needed I never had a backup. The guys were all concearned what if during a set I broke a string. When I told them its rare to never I break a string. Years ago I stwiched to DR stings 10 ga sets and now have that much confidence in them. They though I was crazy but after a few months of playing out with them they realized I was right. I tried all the different type 10 ga DR strings and they all hold up the same. I ususally change all strings out when working every weekend about every 6 weeks.I also use the DR green Bronze 11 ga acoustic on my Taylor and they are the same quailty I have confidence in. I just bought the new Zebra DRs for to try. Well worth the cost and piece of mind. Get a set youll see.

I grabbed these a couple of days after I got them and put them on a '59 Kay arch-top. Wow. They made the guitar come alive. Before, with flat-wounds that someone had put on them, it played well but was the worst-sounding of all my guitars. Now it competes well with the others, so of course I'm very happy.

I play at my church every now and then, and when I replaced my old strings with these DR strings, the sound guy thought I had a new guitar. While having a bright and crisp tone, the DR strings also have a full tone. The lower strings growl (in a good way) and give the guitar some personality. For the price, I'll stick with these strings as long as they sell them!

Don't Hold Tune Well, Not My Favorite,

I've always used Elixirs. Saw the good reviews for this set and figured I'd give them a try since they were 60% cheaper. They didn't feel or sound as good. Also, they didn't stay in tune well at all. I have a Taylor 214ce and with Elixirs, I've been regularly surprised by how well those strings stay in tune. Maybe these strings just don't mesh with my particular guitar, but they failed my test.
