This title is quite specific to African culture and art but any with a focus on African images will find it an important key to understanding artifacts and images relating to otherworld mates among a particular West African tribe. Social and psychological probes of the Baule peoples are presented in a title which crosses boundaries between art, sociology, anthropology and cultural studies.
