Exciting,

This review is from: The Drum (Paperback)
This is a great book for older kids and teenagers. I's an exciting adventure story set set in colonial India. The heroes of the story are an English drummer boy and his friend the young prince of the small principality of Tokot on India's North West Frontier Province. It is often said that Mason's writing doesn't match up to that of Rudyard Kipling and that may well be true as literature, but his novels, including The Drum, are more exciting. I also like The Broken Road.
