Great Media Keyboard!, June 3, 2009
This review is from: DSI Mac Compact Wireless Ergonomic keyboard with Touchpad
Before I get into the meat and bones of this keyboard, I'd like to say it's amazing. I love the media keys for iTunes, and the easily accessible keys for one-touch web surfing.
Now that the fan-service is over, let me get detailed.
The multimedia hotkeys for iTunes make it easy to open and play your music. You will NEVER have to use your mouse again for opening iTunes. This frees up your mouse hand for multitasking while you groove.
The internet hotkeys are a time saver as well. One-touch: internet browser open. One-touch: email open. You can even go forward or backward a page without the use of the mouse.
For me, the calculator and sticker buttons are a give or take. When I use those functions, they're great and easy to access, but personally I rarely use them.
The ergonomic design is a plus for me. It's very comfortable without being too exaggerated. My arms aren't at an angle that hurts my shoulders; rather, it makes my wrists feel great. But the ergonomic design is more than just the key layout. With the touchpad mouse on the right, and the left/right click on the left of the board, it makes a great handheld keyboard. Move the cursor with your right thumb, click with your left...very convenient. It makes it easy to just sit back and relax.
It has great battery life (a pair of AA's) and will last for weeks without a change.
The only problem I've encountered is that, sometimes, it is difficult to sync the keyboard with the USB receiver. This is mainly due to the fact that, unlike some other wireless keyboards, there is no sync or ID button on the receiver, but just the keyboard itself. It's not a problem I've encountered often, but when I have, I just had to keep pressing the button until it worked.
All in all, it's a great keyboard, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new keyboard. Too bad I can only give it 5 stars.

I absolutely love/hate this keyboard, March 17, 2010
This review is from: DSI Mac Compact Wireless Ergonomic keyboard with Touchpad
I bought this keyboard 6 months ago when I bought my mac mini. This was the only keyboard I could find that satisfied all five of my criteria:
1. Ergonomic
2. Mac Specific
3. Built in trackpad
4. Media keys
5. Wireless
LOVE: The keyboard worked exactly as I'd hoped out of the box and more. I absolutely love the trackpad and mouse click buttons on opposite sides of the board. This allows you to hold it in your hands in a natural position and use your thumbs to easily navigate around your screen whether you are at a desk or across the room. I couldn't have guessed how important this feature would become to me. The mac media keys are great, great, great. Full control of iTunes, as well as launch safari (back/forward buttons also), calculator, etc with dedicated buttons. The typing action is smooth, although the board is a little light, and the curved design is not as ergonomic as a split board.
LOATHE: The keyboard does a good job at staying connected, I only need to reset the connection an average of once a week. However, after a couple months, I started noticing a jitteriness in the trackpad. It would become hypersensitive, sluggish, or the cursor would just jump around randomly, and sometimes click even though I wasn't touching it. Also, while typing, some characters are dropped, resulting in multiple misspellings.
THE DILEMMA: The jitteriness (best word I can come up with do describe it) can drive me to the point where I want to throw the thing out the window. Then other times it works perfectly fine, and I am in love again. Every time I decide to replace it, I end up relenting because there aren't many alternatives. No other keyboard has all the features I have come to love. Apple needs to hurry up and design an ergonomic media board and/or a gyroscopic (wii-style) air mouse!
CONCLUSION: I would still recommend it, because of its features. But, be prepared for a love/hate relationship.

Maybe for a 5-year old!, October 9, 2009
This review is from: DSI Mac Compact Wireless Ergonomic keyboard with Touchpad
This keyboard is tiny and narrow. the ergonomics are fine relative to angle, but unless you are a size 2, you must keep your elbows tucked into the sides of your body. Defeats the purpose. The functions were fine, but if you have a waist larger than 25 inches, you might find it too small.
