Fits perfectly inside of a backpack or messenger bag!
Rachael P
The padding is nice and thick, and the velcroed panels that divide the center section are very nice.

I am writing this review for other women out there who love their camera and love to change purses and/or bags. Several months ago I bought this same bag, just smaller. I have totally enjoyed it. I ordered this one because the price is reasonable and I wanted just a little more space. I just packed my Canon T2i, Speedlight 580 EX II, and extra telephoto lens in it. Pretty much a perfect fit. I just put it inside a real handbag along with the items I carry in my purse normally and I am set to attend my son's Thanksgiving Feast at school tomorrow. So grateful to have affordable camera protection inside my nice handbag.

I ordered this insert to fit in the bottom of a large backpack (the RedOxx Mini Ruck) so I could carry a modest amount of camera gear (DSLR with mid-sized lens attached, another small lens, and either a flash or a larger lens) in a multi-purpose backpack where I can also carry water bottles, extra clothing, a laptop, or whatever, and that doesn't look like a camera bag. This insert hits the spot after trying many other products that all had various limitations. The size is perfect for filling the bottom of a large backpack, and it is padded on sides *and bottom* (which, for example, Domke inserts are missing). It is also very lightweight and sufficiently flexible with the adjustable divider that can loop around to enclose a small item, or go from side to side to divide the insert into two large compartments. The top flap is just unpadded nylon so it can be folded back and out of the way if you don't want the insert covered (I don't). Workmanship and materials appear perfectly reasonable but I haven't had it long enough to test its longevity but it feels sturdy enough to last some time. Did I mention how light it is?

All in all this is a great, simple, lightweight insert that will solve basic camera equipment protection needs in a generic (but large) backpack. Very happy with this purchase.

I received mine today (first of two). Well-constructed. It fits a Nikon D90 w/ a Nikon 18-200mm VR lens attached nicely. Lots of room for a Nikon 60mm AF-S micro lens, a Nikon 50mm f/1.4 lens, and flash. The first one I received had some construction flaws. I mentioned my disappointment in an earlier revision of this review and the people at Camaroo, Inc. responded immediately with a perfect replacement. Exceptional customer service. Thanks guys! I still think a zipper top would be a nice option.

I have been looking for a camera bag insert for a while, and decided that for the price, I should give this one a shot. I wanted this insert to hold my DSLR with attached lens, and at least one additional lens or maybe a few small accessories - which it does. I purchased this with the thought that I could slide it into a messenger bag or a large purse while traveling so that I don't stick out as someone carrying around $2000 worth of camera equipment. While it fits perfectly and I am happy as far as that goes, I am a little nervous about the amount of padding and protection this insert offers. The padding is minimal, and there really isn't any structure to the insert - which is good for squishing it into a bag, but not so good for protecting your camera. For the price though, I shouldn't complain too much. I plan on keeping it because I do feel like it will be useful, but I think that I am going to try to add some padding to the bottom and sides of the insert before taking it on my next trip.

The designer really thought this one through. It is well made and really feels like I could drop it several feet and not damage the contents. The velcro insert can be moved around to fit different sized items and keep them from touching. I just returned a similar item to amazon that shed and did not close properly. This one has no such flaws. It seems perfect so far.

This insert is perfect for those who are looking for an inexpensive insert to use with other bags to store their DSLR gear. Unlike the Domke ones, this one is padded on the bottom and my equipment feels very safe in here. It comes with one removable velcro divider that is acceptable, but doesn't seem the sturdiest thing in the world. The colors are a little off, as my insert has more of a black exterior and a gray interior, but other than that, the picture was fairly accurate. It's quite possible to fold back the top flap, which is not padded, but it causes that side to then bulge out a bit. In terms of build quality and durability, I can't say for sure since I've only just got it, but it seems like it will hold up for a while. If anything goes awry, I'll update this review accordingly. Overall, however, I must give this my recommendation because for the price, this product is great and does exactly what I was looking for.

I love the camera "purses" but haven't wanted to shell out the money for them... I would rather save for a wide angle lens. I wanted something that would slide into a tote bag or large purse to conceal the camera and keep it safe. This is great. I have a Canon 60D and it fits the camera, the zoom, my nifty-fifty and all the extras with no problem.

Basic, no frills, but fits in a ton of other bags and provides a great, padded, and flexible storage/transit shell for your DSLR and a few lenses! I use mine in a Tom Bihn Id bag and it fits perfectly.
