Book Description

September 12, 1986
March Wendell knows he can inherit the earldom - but the young earl stands in his way and he's determined to change that. When Lady Leslie Endale realizes that her guardian March Wendell is the one responsible for her young brother's awful accidents, she arranges for her siblings to flee to London to be in the protection of Great-Aunt Endale. This seems to be the ideal solution for Lady Leslie until fate brings the Duke of Kenelm to her and he offers a more attractive option for the Endale progeny. He takes a liking to the children while Lady Leslie is enchanted by his charming ways, but can the two find each other's hearts while running from the corrupt March Wendell?

5.0 out of 5 stars Smooth and refreshing, February 14, 2007
This review is from: Duke's Dilemma (Paperback)
What a delight, my first Elizabeth Chater book. The writing flowed beautifully, the plot and protagonists were great - and the children's plight was heartwarming. Now for more . . . .

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, but not phenomenal, July 1, 2006
This review is from: Duke's Dilemma (Paperback)
Fairly good villains, charming children, handsome hero, and a beautiful heroine, what more can you ask for? Well, I for one tend to become frustrated when the heroine is brave and gutsy, then turns around and does something completely stupid and out of character. It was OK, not horrible, but not phenomenal.
