4.0 out of 5 stars Cost effective alternative
These batteries are a very good choice for an inexpensive alkaline. Heavy duty batteries, are not cost effective because although cheaper, they have a very short run time. To get the best bang for your buck, go for alkalines like these.

The "Procell" designation is basically Duracell's way of marking these batteries as ones intended for industrial applications...

Some of the batteries in my package worked fine. Several did not work at all.

These batteries are a very good choice for an inexpensive alkaline. Heavy duty batteries, are not cost effective because although cheaper, they have a very short run time. To get the best bang for your buck, go for alkalines like these.

The "Procell" designation is basically Duracell's way of marking these batteries as ones intended for industrial applications. They make them as a separate line so they won't directly compete with their consumer lines.

My experience is that these batteries do not last quite as long as the top consumer lines from Duracell and Energizer. However, they are within 10-20% (depending on the application), and are considerably cheaper. So, they are much more cost effective.

Unless you are using them in an application where it is difficult to change the batteries, I recommend going with these instead of spending more.

I love the pro duracell batteries. I am a video producer and I use these batteries in my wireless mics. They last so much longer than the standard batteries and I've tried them all. For me, they are definitely worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Packaging, December 30, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I haven't used up any of the batteries yet - they seem like ordinary alkaline batteries. What sets these apart is the packaging. The product image shown when I bought it concerned me - it says "4xAAA" but looks way too big for that and the description (and price) said 24 batteries. It turns out the picture is larger than life size - it should be the size of 4 AAA batteries standing side by side. You get 6 paperboard boxes just like the one shown in the picture, all pancaked together in a larger paperboard box measuring 3" x 2" x 1.75". There is no wasted space, no plastic, no cellophane, etc. The packaging wouldn't be good for keeping in a wet location, but it's perfect for keeping a stock of batteries in a drawer. You can easily grab a pack of 4 batteries when you need to use them, or grab a few 4-packs to throw in a bag for a trip. The packaging is easy to open and close. I'm not sure if this is in Amazon's Frustration-Free Packaging program ( [...] ), but it is worthy of that. I wish more products would have such simple, useful packaging.

I know of these kind of batteries because when I worked a telemetry floor as a nurse and ICU we used them on the patients' portable monitors. They last long and are great!

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT VALUE ON AAA BATTS., December 27, 2009

Fresh dated, had more power on the meter than ones purchased elsewhere three months earlier. Can't beat the price, and quantity needed for so many remotes that require 4-AAA each. Also bought AA and 9volt sizes.

My family goes through batteries faster than I can buy them. I like Duracell batteries, but the Procell were cheaper, so I gave them a try. They work just as good. I recommend.

I've been using Duracell Procells (sizes AAA, AA, C, and 9V) in pretty much every small, battery powered device I own for about a year now. In that time, I've noticed absolutely no difference between them and standard Duracell Coppertops or Energizers. Wii controllers, LED flashlights, Maglights, wireless mice, digital cameras, etc... there's been no change in the battery life of any of them. In my opinion, they're just as good in every way and an absolute steal for the price.

Not a bad price on 24 batteries. Would buy again if price point stays the same. No tax and Prime shipping makes buying from amazon easier than going to the store and picking them up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceeds expectations for AAA batteries, March 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: DURACELL AAA24 PROCELL Professional Alkaline Battery (DURACELL AAA24PROCELL) (Health and Beauty)
Without an engineering review, These are for a 10 megapixel digital camera my son is averaging about 150 picture per battery set (3) at this point they get used in a mp3 player. This exceeds all the other batteries tried. What ever he picked up at the local store. Various brands. The box says no Mercury and made in USA. not china so that's a plus.
pros
long life, no leakage, Made in USA, good value for the money
