This is exactly as it says. However, be forewarned, I bought this for my ATI HD4850. It seems the ATI cards support HDMI Audio over DVI if you use the special adapter that comes with the card. Unfortunately mine did not come with one so I hoped this would do the trick.. but it did not. The Video however was perfect so the item is very good at doing what it should.

Ordered two of these for work to connect two projects in 3D setup to a Nvidia Quadro series graphics card. Upgrading from VGA to HDMI was a huge step up. Adapter works like charm and appears to be very sturdy. Soon going to order more to hook up more projectors. I highly recommend it.

Cheap little adapter, but does the job well. Allows my now aging GTX260 to be used with my HDMI TV. Carries sound as well, once the video card is hooked up internally.
