I was very disappointed when I tried to add my own recipes -- the only reason I bought the software. If you do not add chapters in alphabetical order, you cannot alphabetize later. The "enter" key does not advance to the next box when adding ingredients, you must use the arrow keys which is time consuming and annoying. I was unable to abbreviate words like tablespoon, teaspoon or pound. I purchased this software to replace 5 year old software -- think I'll go back to the old stuff, it's much better suited to my needs.

I've been very pleased with my Cook'n software so far. Browsing recipes is quick, and I especially like the search feature where you type in ingredients and it finds all the matching recipes. I also like looking through the pictures of the Betty Crocker recipes. It's helpful to see how a dish will look before making it. The menus and shopping list features are fun because it will tell you what you need to buy, although the pricing information doesn't seem quite accurate. I was also delighted to find that there are additional recipe sets that are available from the company for download or on CD. They have lots of cooking related stuff, and are very friendly and helpful, based on the response to some questions I emailed to them.

I'm not a computer person, but I received this from my husband for Christmas and I really like it. The Betty Crocker recipes are nice (pictures too), and I'm also using it to keep my own recipes on the computer.

The program is nice and straightforward, and the recipes are organized into cookbooks and chapters. Adding recipes is easy because it will fill in the ingredients as you type, so it goes fast. I had a few questions at first, but their tech support was great (I spoke to a real person!) I also like the printing options, although they need to add a print preview feature.

Once I learned the basics, I was surprised at how much flexibility there is. You can add ingredients, do shopping lists, menus, and even plan out 6-months or more. Overall, I recommend it especially if you have tons of recipe cards and scraps of paper all over the place!

Installed on XP Pro on laptop and desktop without any problems (or patches). Does everything I need and has great recipes.

Before I went out and bought any software, I downloaded trials for free to try all of them out. I downloaded Mastercook, Living Cookbook, and this one. This is the one I liked the best after trying all of them out for a week. I then went and bought the software and absolutely love it so far. I have no problems with it and it is very simple to use. I have so many recipes of my own and love the fact that it is easy to add my own recipes.

I bought this program to use along with my Palm. Well, it caused a fatal error on my Palm and I haven't been able to use it since. It was still using it on my computer but the grocery list part doesn't work either. I asked the programmer for help but they "have no fix at this time". I have since purchased a MAC computer so I don't use this program at all anymore. I consider that it was a waste of money.

I think this is a great program, but there are no directions that I could find and so therefore not as easy to use. I have figured most of it out. It does have the help section, but I like to be able to read it on paper, not have to search for everything on the computer.

It's been a month since i ordered it..i'm still waiting...there are no phone number to call and no one will repose to emails. DO NOT order from this company. I had someone write me back today to tell me I pre-ordered????? i never pre ordered anything. It said buy now and i did never anywhere did anything say preorder. Of course the had no problems take the money out of my account the day i ordered. what happened to taking the money out when it's shipped. This is a crooked company. There are better software company out there.

recieved in good condition but was sadden by how was used, found recipes easy but wanted 2 add 1 of my own an found 2 b very difficult 2 add an moditfy it an then add an other or epand (edit)it.

My old orange Betty Crocker book is one of my favorite all time cookbooks. I didn't have a program for my computer so I gave this one a shot. It's not a bad program...tons of recipes and all that. You click on a food on the left side of the screen and it brings up all the recipes for that food on the right side. There's even a helpful hints section for a well stocked panty. The only negative is that I wish there were more color photos. Not all recipes have one. I still like that visual picture when I'm looking for a recipe.
