The SPECO DVR-X4K/1 4-camera 40 GB Digital Video Recorder with 4 Dome Cameras combines a cost effective DVR that can store hours of video on a HDD (hard disk drive) without image degradation or tape-swapping, making it an ideal replacement for aging time-lapse VCRs, with four high-quality dome cameras. Easy to set-up and operate, the DVR-X4K/1 allows activity detection and multiple recording modes, making it suited to small- to medium-sized observation systems involving round-the-clock security surveillance.

The SPECO DVR-X4K/1's DVR utilizes MJPEG compression with four recording modes and selectable quality levels that allow a maximum recording resolution of 720 x 240 effective pixels. This unit comes with an internal 40 GB HDD (hard disk drive), and allows event searching by date, time, and alarm. The DVR-X4K/1 features a watch-dog function that returns the DVR to any pre-power-outage stage, and recording continuously or by alarm, schedule or activity detection. The SPECO DVR-X4K/1 includes four BNC (Bayonet Neill-Concelman) composite video inputs, with two BNC composite video outputs for connecting to monitors or additional DVRs, as well as four alarm inputs and one alarm output for connecting external devices. The CVC-645DC has a high resolution of 420 horizontal TVL (TV lines), is sensitive to light with a minimum illumination of one Lux, and achieves a S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio of 48 dB or better. The SPECO CVC-645DC uses the NTSC color TV scanning system, and includes a standard RCA video output with a BNC (Bayonet Neill-Concelman) adapter. This unit runs on 12-volts DC power, and can operate in temperatures ranging from 14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. The CVC-645DC comes complete with a built-in automatic electronic shutter with speeds ranging from 1/60 to 1/100,000 of a second.

A Digital Video Recorder (DVR) takes video signals from security cameras and converts the video stream into a digital format for storage on an internal hard drive.
