Like other reviewers, this is not my first pair of Franciscos, however it will probably be my last. There are a few major design changes that you should be aware of before buying:

1. The sole is very stiff, to the point that they don't stay on your heel when walking. I am not sure if that would change as they broke in. If this was the only problem I would have probably kept them.
2. The sole has a pattern silk screened on the bottom, presumably to prevent slipping. Not a bad idea since the older versions were very slippery, but it makes a very annoying sound when walking on tile or wood floors. Like one reviewer said, its the same sound as if you had spilled beer on the floor the night before. If you only walk on carpet then it might not be a problem.

These issues were enough to make me return them very quickly.

Bought this as a Christmas present for my brother in law that wears this brand and always has. He loves them. With the outdoor soles he can step out side with no problems. I recommend this slipper for it's style, comfort, and ease.

Super comfortable slipper to wear around the house but not durable to wear as an every day outside shoe. Well, maybe to the mailbox or next door but I wouldn't wear these down to the liquor store. I'm mean you could if wanted to but you'll get parking lot grease on the soles and then you end up tracking it on your carpet. I'm on my third pair now so I forget how close to size these are. I just get the large and it fits my size 10 feet perfectly. Plus they soften and stretch when they get broken in. The pair on my feet now are fairly worn out now and actually getting a tiny bit loose. Time to buy pair #4. Why wear some dorky dad slipper when you can be pimpin like Hef.

:update a year later: pair #5 is in service and super comfortable as always but i learned these new versions have a "skin" on the underside of the sole which makes it squeak when you walk in them. Imagine the sound of walking on a kitchen floor with that had beer spilled on it the night before. Other than that they're great slippers.

I've worn my new slippers for the last few days and I'm very pleased with their look and fit. It has a sturdy sole and are great for quick outside trips. They are lined with a very soft and warm lining and the size large fits my size 9D feet perfectly. I just don't understand why they are labelled as a "sneaker."

I bought these for my boyfriend who wanted some slippers but did not want the "old man" looking ones. I was thrilled to find these. I just received them today and opened them and was surprised at how hard the sole is. It is like walking on a piece of plastic. Maybe my boyfriend will think otherwise. Also they are very narrow and I'm not sure they will fit. I'll have to wait and see.

This slipper has a nice style and is very soft which is the dearfoams trademark. However it is very long and narrow...which doesn't work well for men's feet. I would suggest ordering a size larger to compensate for the narrow width, but then you will have alot of extra room at the end of your toes. I bought this as a gift for my husband - he can barely fit into the slipper because it is so narrow, but it is way longer than his feet are.
