The good:No more 3 ft long antenna to wack the ground and bend. No more mysterious glitches that are seemingly impossible to diagnose. No more frequency flags and crystals and limitations on who can fly at any one time. Can fly pretty much anything and everything you can fit in a vehicle and take to the field - 20 model memory presets! No need to keep feeding the transmitter piles of alkaline batteries - comes with NiMh pack and charger! Inexpensive compared to similar offerings in other brands and years past. The not that bad: Doesn't feel or look quite as nice as the top of the line Jr, Futaba - but it's very close and plenty well built. The menus could probably use some refinement, but still they are adequate and usable. The bad: Doesn't prevent crashes. ;) Very competent radio for any serious pilot.

This is an Excellent Transmitter ...Just be carefull that Air transmitter is primarly for planes and Heli transmitter is primarly for Heli's however both have heli and Plane functions the only major differences is that the Air one has the Gear switch on the left and the Heli one has the same on the right side also the small logo on the Dx7 screen on the rigtht side is different. Air Tx will have a "plane" and Heli Tx will have a small "heli". That's it I wish someone could have told me this so I would have ordered the Heli one. but No issues. Excellent Transmitter you may buy whatever is in Stock. :-) CheersThanks Amit

This is probably the best transmitter I've used to date. Everything I expected. The only small issue I have is the battery charger seems to be one you have to hook up to timer. Would be nice if you could plug it in and let it charge until it's full and automatically turn off, but that does not change the actual performance of the device in the field. It's an amazing leap for the RC industry, and a cutting edge product.

The small improvements over the DX6i have made a big impact on the overall usefulness of the DX7. For example, not only can the rate of servo travel be varied, you can also vary the percentage of up or down travel. For example, you can dial in 115% up elevator, and only 50% down elevator. Another thing I like on the DX7 is that the timer can be either a countdown or count up timer, AND a regular stopwatch. And then, there is the sub trim...which allows you to set the neutral position of the servo without going straight to the servo arm itself and centering it mechanically. The DX7 does everything the DX6i can do, and a little bit more, including ten more memory slots for airplanes or helicopters. The only thing I don't like about this radio is that when you are using the neck lanyard and it's hooked onto the DX7's lanyard hole, the unit won't balance level. Otherwise, I think this is the perfect radio for someone who knows they'll be doing radio control for life.
