Not A Good Buy,
This review is from: DXG DXG-572V 5.0 Megapixel Digital Video Camera (Electronics)
I got this camcorder for last Christmas and it is awful. If you do decide to purchase it, you need to get some kind of light attachment because without it the video quallity is awful. The flash is too bright for pictures (another reason why an attachable light is required)and if used, pics will come out as a white flash or either blue tinted. An attachable mike is also useful, because the camera only pics up the voice of whoever is recording.
Go with a different camera, this one is worthless...

Not only does the picture quality rate negative stars, but the plastic looks cheap. Runs on 4 AA batterys and should be called a toy and sold for $30. I bought, tested, and returned it in under 2 hours.

Putting thing into perspective,

Lets put things into perspective. You are purchsing a compact 5 mp camcorder for less than $100. If you are expecting it to have the same gadgets and perform like a $500 camcorder your expectations are a little unrealistic (although this does have quite a few desireable features). I purchased this camcorder 3 years ago and absolutely love it. The videos that we have taken have turned out quite good, and the camera is simple to use. I would suggest rechargable batteries because it will use up regular AA quickly, and get a larger storage card. If I wanted to complain about anything it would be the battery compartment door, but it really isn't that big a deal. If you want a functional compact camcorder that will not break you bank account I highly recommend a DXG. If you are someone who needs to have the latest & greatest gadgets, this isn't for you. Personally, my expectations were low when I purchased this camera and I have been pleasantly suprised.

I got this as a gift a couple years ago and it's the biggest waste ever. I thought I've been working it wrong and have messed with the settings until I'm blue in the face trying to get the quality of the image anywhere decent. I can be out in the sunlight and the image is still so dark you can barely see anything. Plus, don't leave your batteries in it or it'll run them down. This things eats batteries like crazy. I'm really going to hate explaining to my parents that we had to get a new camera because the one they bought us was a piece of crap.
