5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, practical label maker
The DYMO Organizer Xpress Pro is an excellent, non-digital, longer lasting in both produced label and mechanical quality than digital conunter parts...field tested in my case! Good buy!

I have fond memories of using a label maker as a child, so I bought one for my own son at Christmas. From the very beginning it was not the fun product that I remember. At first I thought my label maker was faulty because the letters were not coming through very clearly. Then I discovered you just have to squeeze very hard to get the letters. Worse, it was nearly impossible to remove the adhesive tape from the back of the label. It was time consuming, labor intensive, and downright frustrating to make a label with this product. Basically nobody used this thing until yesterday when I needed it for a science project and found that it no longer works. I just get little squiggles for letters. I can add this item to my long, long list of things that are not as durable or well-made as they were 30 years ago.

Basically it does what it supposed to do, make a label. Missing 2 stars for the folowing reasons: The letters are spread quite far apart, probably in the hope that you'll run out of tape sooner and have to buy more (I just use it to label external hard drives, so the 3 included rolls will last me literally years anyway, if they don't have a shelf life). Also the included tape is not very sticky (does adhesive really cost that much?) and in a 80+ degree room or 50- degree room (think garage with no climate control) they will fall off. I ended up super-glueing them on. Overall this was the cheapest there was on amazon so I guess this should be expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for home use, February 28, 2010

I bought this product as a substitute for an old DYMO broken by my kid's careless use. This vertical type of DYMO takes less toil to get the letters typed. I like this product.
And I didn't expect the rolls on the picture actually to come together. I was lucky I didn't buy one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Quit working at end of first roll of tape, December 29, 2009

I bought this to label Christmas ornament boxes. At first I liked the product. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the labeler left a perforated piece at the cut end that allows you to easily remove the backing from the self-stick back of the label. However, at the end of the first roll of tape - part of the tape got stuck and caused the cutting mechanism to fail. I would not recommend this product. I was unable to return the item because I did not keep the packaging (I got it a few weeks before Christmas 2009)

I started out with a Dymo Label Buddy but that one is really hard to squeeze to make labels with. This Dymo Organizer XPress is much easier because it has a pistol grip. It really does work a lot better.

Our adolescent son had lots of fun with his new labelmaker. Easy to use.
