The LabelWriter EL40 printer uses thermal printing to produce high-quality labels in as little as five seconds. You never have to change a ribbon or ink or toner cartridge. The printer connects easily to your computer or network, takes little desk space, and prints silently. The LabelWriter EL40 prints address, file folder, video spine, and other labels up to 1.5 inches wide as well as index tabs for hanging files.
The LabelWriter EL40 comes with Dymo Label software, an easy-to-use labeling program that includes a built-in label designer and list manager. Choose among more than 40 predefined label templates or create custom formats using your favorite fonts, graphics, and bar codes. The built-in list manager saves frequently used lists for instant recall. Standard print drivers enable you to print directly from all your favorite programs.
The LabelWriter EL40 works as an integrated feature within Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, GoldMine and ACT! Just click the LabelWriter icon on the main toolbar to get instant labels from these programs.
The LabelWriter EL40 is also completely compatible with labels purchased for Dymo's XL series printers.

When you just need a one or a few labels at a time, running a sheet of Avery labels through a laserprinter becomes a real pain. This is a surprisingly useful doohicky. What's really neat is that someone has written a UNIX driver for it.
