Printing 12 labels per minute, the Dymo LabelWriter uses direct thermal technology, which eliminates the need for toner, ink cartridges, and ribbons. The labels are 1.5 inches (40 millimeters) wide and, in addition to printing address labels, they're great for file folders and video spines. The accompanying software lets you print electronic postage--a real timesaver when you're too busy to run out to the post office. As the Dymo LabelWriter EL40 integrates with Microsoft Word, Outlook, GoldMine, and ACT!, you can also import addresses or other information easily; plus, it prints your favorite fonts and graphics.

This LabelWriter has been wonderful. Our office uses it to create labels for patients' charts, letters, and barcoding. We have also used it for creating labels for 3.25" floppy disks. As a matter of fact, we use it so much that we purchased a second one so that we would have one in the front and back offices. It is also capable of printing a variety of label types, but I can't speak to that. I do, however, highly recommend it.
