Great quality poker sets!
yrouts
Chips are nice and heavy and are good construction, case is nice and the cards inside are ok for a few uses.
S. Kerry
They're so much better--in sound, look, feel, weight--than chips with a metal insert.

Good quality set... my problem was with the chips they gave me. 50 red chips, 50 green chips, 50 black chips, and 350 blue chips. I did the seller a dis-service and rated the item transaction 2 stars -- I was unhappy with the original shipment, posted out of anger. The seller contacted me, concerned over my problem... and shipped me the replacement chips with return shipping for the extra blue chips. If I could give seller more than 5 stars, I would. Good product, excellent seller, and excellent customer service. Went out of their way to make things right. Buy with confidence from this seller (seller is ChipsAndGames).

Update 2 Jan 2012 : Having used the set for about 40-50 home games, it is still in good condition. Both sets of playing cards had one card each go bad (tore, or developed a telling mark) - so I have discarded these. The case still seems sturdy. A random note for the chip riffle-shuffle enthusiast - The white chips shuffle the best, the others are a little sticky, and won't shuffle that good.

Just received my poker chip set. Although I haven't played with the chips yet, overall, I am very satisfied with the quality of the set on primary inspection. Here's a list of things that stood out. The chips feel nice, sturdy and "weighty". Picking up or sliding a stack of 10 of these chips gives you a good weighty feeling, something that low quality plastic poker chips lack. The colour of the chips is consistent, and I did not notice any gross manufacturing imperfections, except for the occasional "flash". Owing to their weight (11.5 g) and their good coefficient of friction, they stay put and don't slide when on top of each other, something you don't want when you are building tall stacks. 40-chip-high stacks seemed pretty stable and didn't wobble much. This implies that the surfaces of the chips don't have imperfections and that each chip is pretty flat, so stacking them doesn't result in building a 'slanting' stack. The colour distribution of chips is white and red : 150 each, blue : 100, green and black : 50 each. Since I haven't played a lot with these, can't comment about the distribution, but looks about right.

Other stuff that comes with the set : Playing cards - are OK - I personally prefer 100% plastic cards. These seem to be paper with plastic lamination, so they are not as bendy as plastic ones. I guess they are OK.

I've had this exact set for over a year and it has seen HEAVY use. Weekly poker nights and other home games. One poster commented about discoloration; there is only slight discoloration to the chips after hundreds of hours of constant chip shuffling. This is to be expected, but is in no way a problem. The chips do not have metal inserts, but are still heavy and feel high quality. Edges are still square despite heavy chip shuffling. Case is reasonably strong and has withstood abuse sliding around in my truck and being lugged around to games. The original motor cards are average, but won't last long. If you like paper cards, replace the included "Motor" brand with some Bicycle's. If you like plastic cards (Cellulose Acetate), try the Kem Arrow or Copag decks. The buttons are not fancy and prone to paint wear on the blind buttons. Dealer button is proper size and looks nice.

In summary, this is the perfect set for someone just starting out or someone that wants the most chips they can carry in a reasonable-weight package. The 1000 chip cases are enormous and extremely heavy, so beware. For chip shuffling and tricks, they feel heavy and sound very traditional if not a little deeper than the standard 10 gram casino chip.

Very nice set of clay poker chips - these chips have a nice weight and feel to them. They feel much better in your hand than cheap plastic chips, and the weight really gives them a substantial feel.

The cards that came with them are regular Motor brand playing cards (paper cards with a plastic coating). I don't know what all the reviews alluding to used sets of cards were talking about, these are pretty straightforward, normal, new playing cards.

The carrying case is high quality, the latches latch well so it doesn't seem to have any risk of opening up when you are carrying it. When loaded with all the chips, the set is quite HEAVY, which is why the shipping is so much.

Great poker set. Chips have a nice weight to them. Came with 2 decks of cards formerly played at Harrah's casino. Comes in a nice silver-color carrying case - very portable. Nice and compact size. It's quite heavy but worth it for the good quality chips.

I am pleased with the "feel" of the chips, something hard to quantify. The case is nice enough. I made a direct call to the retailer and had the colors made to my specific needs instead of evenly distributed. Very nice over the phone. The set shipped on time and was received early. As some have said, the included cards are used sets from a real casino. I considered that a plus, as they have character, but I can see that not everyone likes that. I would buy from them again and recommended this set to my poker friends.

LONG TERM FOLLOWUP: It has been several years of at least weekly use, and these chips are holding up extremely well. The color is holding fast (I have white, red, blue, black, and yellow) and not a single one has been chipped or cracked. The case is holding together, but losing the feet. It still contains and protects ships, which is the key thing.
