4.0 out of 5 stars Great variation of the old "Operation" game
The parts are a little harder to get out than in the original "Operation" game, but instead of the red buzzing nose you get an eerie "alien" wail. There's nothing particularly educational about it, unless you believe that this is accurate alien anatomy, but then neither was Operation...Good for fine motor control and Eye to hand coordination.

1.0 out of 5 stars how embarassing!
I ordered three of this game...When my kids opened theirs on...we found that the shell is made of flimsy, easily crackable moldedplastic sheeting with a cardboard box TAPED underneath to hold the mechanics. Body parts were missing and one was duplicated (but didn't fit in any of the 'missing' slots).

Body parts were missing and one was duplicated (but didn't fit in any of the 'missing' slots).

We set up this game and found the alien scream to be as weak and flimsy as the board, not at all the jolting deterrent noise one expects from the original Operation game upon which this appears to be based. My older daughter turned to me wailing, _But Mom, we GAVE this to X and X..... it's junk_.

She was embarassed and later asked if we might get each of those classmates another small gift to make up for NOT KNOWING.

Buy the original, folks.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just 'Operation' with an Alien, December 18, 2000

Alien Autopsy promised to be a pretty entertaining joke present for my sister, a big X-Files fan. It was a disappointment. It's exactly like the classic Operation game, only the quality isn't even that good. It's much easier to get the pieces out than in Operation, so it's not challenging at all. Overall, a pretty lame present.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and Boring, November 21, 2000
By A Customer

My Dad bought this game as a joke for me last Christmas. Granted, I was 16 at the time, but it was still boring. All one does is circle the board until somebody lands on an autopsy square (there are very few of these). An attempt is made to get out the organ, and if one fails, the alien lets out an annoying, meek scream. If an autopsy square isn't landed on, all one can do is continue circling the board until by chance it is landed on. The battery box is indeed taped to the bottom of the board. When I opened mine, the box fell off and the "tweezers" wouldn't shut all the way, making them extremely difficult to use. We were both disappointed, having expected it to be funny and creative. It was not. I would go for the real Operation game, or, if a paranormal theme is in mind, hit up a different version of a similar game. There are a few out there.

I can't really tell you if the game is fun or not because everything was broken on it. The flimsy shell that holds the board was torn and the tweezers were broken away from their attachment. Bummer! It's a great idea though, and educational in informing people that other life forms might be in existance. I wish this game would be improved and re-issed. I'd give it a second chance!

Great game, seller shipped fast and product was just as they had stated. Game itself is built a little flimsy but if you keep it in the box it is just fine.

2.0 out of 5 stars Redesign Needed...., September 30, 2004
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Alien Autopsy Game (Toy)
This is a Great Spin on the old "Operation" Game, but unfortunately it's not made as well. The biggest flaw in the game's construction is the thin and flimsy plastic body. If the manufacturer were to redesign the game and use the same type of plastic molding used in the "Operation" game, it would Definitely be a Winner, and justify the game's price.
