I was so pleased when I found out that they were making the Anastasia crib in a stationary version rather than the drop side. My husband put the crib together by himself, it took a couple of hours but the directions were clear. I love the drawer underneath, it makes storing extra sheets very convenient.

Be careful when putting it together. My husband nicked it with the screwdriver but thankfully it was on the backside that faces the wall.

I got this crib in espresso because it was on sale, but what a beautiful color! Would work for a boy or a girl. Our baby sleeps in this crib since day 1. Drawer is a great feature - I store all her bedding there (extra sheets, light blankets, etc.). It took maybe 30 min for my husband to put it together, instructions were clear. Since it's made out of pine that is a "soft" wood, we were pretty careful not to scratch it. Love that it came with the clear teething cover on the top bars.
One thing I didn't realize when I bought the crib - the drawer doesn't have any cover on the top so when the matress is in the top position, you can see everything that lays in the drawer. However if you use the bed skirt, it should help to hide your stuff. Overall a great crib, very satisfied!

I loved, loved the look of this crib in pictures. We picked it without seeing it in a store first, based on online looks and reviews.

It's not a bad crib, but:
1) It's not as solid as it seems in photos. The wood is actually very soft. We tried to place one of those mobiles on the side rail and the mobile left a mark on the wood already (and believe me, we didn't even tight it very hardly).

2) It has minor dents and scratches, came like that despite brand new in the box.

3) The instructions are clear but this bed is not easy to put together! Me & hubby assembled lots of other furniture and this took close to 3 frustrating hours, mainly because the parts and the screws didn't work well together, everything had to be wiggled with to actually fit.

4) The screw wholes you see in pics on the side of the bed...you can actually see and touch the metal screws, and they feel rough to touch. You can get small cuts from touching those screws, not to mention they don't look very pretty.

5) The drawers: bottom is cardboard. Drawers are open, so no way to store bed linens or clothes or anything the baby would touch because it accumulates dust. Great for storing diapers (still in plastic) or anything else where dust can be easily washed or not a problem. The crib dust ruffle/skirt is a must, otherwise you can see the open drawer underneath the mattress and it doesn't look pretty.

Bottom line: I feel this compares to an Ikea crib in quality, but cute looks. Ok if you can get a good price or as a gift, I guess.
