We bought this for our toddler girls room and it's perfect! It matches our custom bedroom set as if it came with it. It's sturdy and solid, yet very cute. We changed the white nobs to pink ones we found at Lowe's and now it's exactly like one that you'd pay alot more for - Definitely recommended!

I didn't want to spend a fortune on a bookcase. I search the websites (with cheap shipping) and thought this one was perfect. I read some reviews, one person said the shelves slipped out, and another said the bookcase tipped forward. Both problems for small children. I don't know if they resolved those issues prior to my purchase but I don't have either of those problems. The shelves have little nitches in them to keep them in place. And the bookcase came with wall anchors. It's super easy to assemble and it looks great. And it's really nice to have the bottom drawer to put games.

I purchased the espresso finished 5 shelf & drawer bookcase for my living room - although it is also part of a nursery room ensemble - it is completely in place in a more formal room. The finish was flawless, the construction was solid and MOST importantly, it was extremely easy to put together. As a single retired woman, I was apprehensive about opening the large box and sorting through the pieces and directions, but once I began, I had no problems from start to finish - even the drawer was a snap! It took me a few enjoyable hours and now the real enjoyment is filling it with my books and collectables. I read through many reviews before I bought this model and I'm convinced I made the best choice. Buy it, try it!

Great value and really excellent looking piece. Assembly was fairly straighforward and took about 30 minutes in all. Problem is the piece was damaged during shipping. One of the front sides got crushed inward and required some touchup paint to hide the exposed wood. Shipping damage is a role of the dice. If your arrived intact consider yourself lucky.

The overall construction of this shelving unit is very solid and sturdy. Unfortunately, the item I received has a very large and noticable crack -- about 13" -- on the outside side of the right side panel. The shipping weight was just shy of 110lb, meaning re-boxing and returning is simply not going to be worth the effort. Overall it is a nice bookcase, it is just a shame it was damaged when received.

We ordered for our nursery. However, the other items were discontinued and we had discarded the packaging. So we moved to my office as I needed a bookshelf. It is neutral enough that it fit perfectly. It is not solid wood but looks very nice from the front. Not fond of the heavy cardboard back. However, this is just for small books and knick knacks so it does the trick. Not sure it would have help up to abuse from a toddler/young child so probably better off we put it in an "adult" room. I love the drawer on the bottom for storage. The glides are smooth. I gave it 4 stars because it's pretty sturdy and the drawre is nice. I would have given 5 if the back was actual wood/plywood. Note the color is closer to cream. If you want stark white, this is not for you. Definitely off-white to cream.

This product is very unsafe for children. It has 3 adjustable shelves which easily slide forward and backward. My 2 year old managed to do this within the first 5 minutes that the bookcase was built and they came crashing down on his head and arm. Most bookcases have side lips so that shelves have to be angled to get them in and out. These shelves simply slide out much like a drawer and there is nothing to stop them from falling down. They could have at least made grooves on the shelf pegs, but there are none present. The end result is that for the shelves that are adjustable, it is very unstable and unsafe for children.

Lastly, this bookcase should have come with a wall fastener. It is very heavy b/c of its height and could easily be pulled down on a toddler.

Although this bookcase looks nice and stylish, I would not be surprised if it was recalled b/c it is completely unsuitable for a child's room in my opinion.
