Product Description

Dabble HD
Dabble HD, Tablet Edition

Dabble, the hottest new word game for Android smartphones -- has come to the tablet! This HD edition is optimized for display on 7" tablets. Now, you can play the fast-thinking game that everyone is talking about on an Android smartphone or tablet device. From the crisp and clear high-definition graphics to the addicting game-play, you won't want to put Dabble HD down.

Think Fast

Dabble HD is the kind of game that is as simple as it is challenging. It rewards players with quick wits, a large vocabulary, and perfect spelling. You have to be on your toes, since the goal of the game is to spell out five separate words with just 20 letters as quickly as possible. The trick is that the five words must be comprised of a two-letter, three-letter, four-letter, five-letter, and six-letter word. You don't have to complete all five words to score, just try your best. But remember, the more words you complete, and the quicker you do it, the higher your score.

Dabble HD, Tablet Edition
Arrange 20 letters to make five words
Dabble HD, Tablet Edition
Unlock badges and beat your high scores
Move Letters and Form Words

Game-play is easy! At the beginning, you will see 20 tiles, each with a letter and a point value. The tiles are already configured in rows, and all you have to do is drag and drop the letters to form words. As you do, the tiles turn blue and you gain points. Form all five words within five minutes or less to win. If you get stuck, you can tap the Solve button to see the solution. If you get really stuck, you can tap the restart button for a new game board.

Earn Badges and Awards

When you first launch Dabble HD, you can enter your name to track your best times and scores. If you share your device with family or friends, you can add up to four additional users, and change users during the first 30 seconds of the game. As you play, you'll have the chance to earn badges for win streaks, fast times, and high scores. You can also view your top five high scores overall and for longest win streaks and fastest times. Challenge yourself to unlock all of the badges and beat your top scores!

An Award-winning Game

Dabble has rightfully earned its fair share of praise, including the following awards:

  • Dr. Toy's 10 Best Games 2011
  • Dr. Toy's 100 Best Children's Products 2011
  • Creative Child Magazine's Word Game of The Year 2011

2.0 out of 5 stars Why is it 18+MB? November 28, 2011

Well when I saw yuletide7 review it made me wander, what is in this app? So I looked...
1. Adware: AdKnowledge, InMobi and Inneractive.
2. Analytics: Flurry
3. Developer Tools: Corona, Facebook and Zong.
4. Social Gaming: OpenFeint and Papaya Social.

That's alot of stuff for something that is a paid app.
The game itself is good, I would give it 4* if it wasn't for the Adware and Analytics. If something is paid for these things shouldn't be in the app.
The way I see it, is if you pay for something it should be Adware and Analytic FREE. As long as all of us let them get away with this they'll keep doing it.
It use to be the norm on PC's till enough people stood up and said BOYCOTT these devs with shady/lazy practices. It's your privacy, so how much you put up with is your own personal decision. Just remember nothing is really free on the internet, except debugging apps for the devs. Otherwise there's usually a surprise like adware and or analytics.
I'm not a paranoid privacy nut, I just like a level playing field for people who are not tech/program savy. Their usually the biggest victims because their not very informed about shady practices.
I will try to evaluate apps here for adware and analytics, plus any toys they may have left in the app, but I'm a busy guy. So I won't have time to look at faotd everyday.
If you wonder how I look at these apps, I have a Linux computer I write programs on. The Android OS is a form of Linux.

2.0 out of 5 stars 4 for the game 0 for the Privacy Invasion November 24, 2012

Another game I really like, but it's those darn permissions. it reads phone state and identity... why? It also has full internet access, again why?

I love word games, and this one has an interesting twist. You are given a collection of letters from which you need to form one six, one five, one four, one three and one two letter word. Each tile is given a value ala Scrabble. The sum of the tiles is then multiplied by the word length to arrive at a final total score. You are given five minutes to solve the puzzle. Each second of unused time is worth one point. It also has an option to see the solution.

I like the fact that it can be moved to the SD card.

I wish devs would stop with these permissions. They are not necessary and again while I really like this game I would never buy it because of them.

To those who have a low tolerance for people whose opinion differ from yours, name calling and accusations of ignorance are unlikely to change any minds.

3.0 out of 5 stars all words please January 11, 2012

Fun to play most of the time, but there are some commonly spelled words that it won't accept. Reconsider what dictionary should be used, maybe this rating will be upgraded.

Sounds fun but I didn't install because of unnecessary permissions. It's time to stand up to developers using games as "legitimate" malware.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beware.... December 10, 2011

This game is lots of fun. If you like word games you'll really enjoy this one. However, I've been compelled to write my first review to warn people that after downloading this game your phone may begin to behave erraticly. My battery life decreased significantly. I noticed when attempting to uninstall other apps, the data began to flicker and I had to press the uninstall button several times. I eventually uninstalled this app and right after I could not access my alarm clock. I had to perform a factory reset. Maybe just an isolated incident, who knows. HTC Droid Incredible 2.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun . . . But January 21, 2013

This app has some real possibilities, but badly needs to be upgraded and fixed. The most annoying things are that the letters often do not go where they are placed, but instead next to or behind the intended spot, making the player lose time, and the dictionary does not recognize common words, especially small ones, such as "err". I won't recommend it until that's fixed.

1.0 out of 5 stars you don't need this July 23, 2013
seeing the horrible permissions on this, and the general lack of creativity in the app, I thought I would look to find a better option. after one minute search, I found "Word Pyramid" by shockblast entertainment. fewer permissions and only 856 Kb... no open feint or any doo doo like that.
