As a recent owner of Dachshunds (a male and two females)with the intent to breed each female at least once, this was one of the most informant books I have read. There are lots of good books available, but I found this to have most of the information under one cover.

I purchase 2 books that day regarding Dachshund, and was looking for information on the side of research and charctristics of a dachshund and was very pleased with the Dachshund handbook and it was very informative and I would highly recommend this too anyone that is going to be raising a Dachshund for their pet.

This book is informative, giving all kinds of info for dachschund owners. It would have been better if it included more info specific to the different types. perhaps dividing the books into three sections-standard, mini, and tweenies. But overall, the book is helpful to those unfamiliar with the breed.

I expected more indepth training information. It is fairly general and a lot of information I didn't need though the information was interesting

I have looked through many different dog books over the years and highly recommend Barron's as the most comprehensive, informative, easy to read and reference. In order to understand our canine companions, we must know how their instincts developed over centuries of evolution; learning how to accept and/or curb those instincts goes a long way towards insuring a successful relationship between pet and owner. Plus, the Barron's books are written in such a way that even the non-reader is drawn back to complete the book cover-to-cover.

My granddaughter loves dachshund's and this is going to be an ideal Christmas gift for her! Fast delivery.... product arrived inexcellent conditon. Many thanks!
