I actually bought this book because I wanted the free "Train Your Dog" dvd. I didn't think I needed another dog book since I have bought and read many dog books over the years. This book is wonderful surprise! The information is very up-to-date and thorough. I especially like the chapters on training and what to expect during the different stages of your dog's life.
The DVD is really great! My 3-month old puppy already knows come, sit, down, and roll over. The trainers use the positive approach with lots of praise and rewards.

From nutrition and health and play activities to how to understand the breed's common traits, DASCHUNDS packs in over 100 color photos and includes tips on how to train a dog. Highly recommended for any dachshund owner or potential owner.

I have "The Dachshund Handbook" by the same author and this books appears to be a reprinting of it. The info is great but if you already have the other book I would not purchase this one. I thought the two books would be different so I was disappointed.

It was well worth waiting quite some time to finally get this book. Since I have older rescue dachshunds, this covers absolutely everything I need!
