5.0 out of 5 stars "Come ON, Dad; Feel Your Feelings!", May 15, 2011

Stephi Lineburg and Judge Reinhold have great chemistry as an estranged father and daughter who are suddenly thrown together after her mother is killed in a car accident. You see enough at the beginning to know how close her character Sam was with her mother, and it is sad. Then along comes her long-out-of-the-picture dad, Jason Fielder. He is a very upwardly mobile relationship therapist who has written comically titled books called Feelings, Feel Your Feelings, and Feel Your Feelings Again. All the while, he feels nothing but the impulse to run away from his own feelings and womanize with women old enough to be Sam's sisters. A case in which the child is still a chid, yet the father is more of one, results in Sam being watched over by a quirky and effective angel played by Carol Kane (best known as Mrs. Latka Gravas on Taxi).

Will Jason ever grow up enough to realize he has a great, talented ice skating kid who's smarter than he is? Buy or rent this movie to find out. Also of note, Alan King delivers a very funny performance as Jason's wacky publicist. Smart dialogue and clever, if somewhat predictable storyline, it's still a flick I recommend highly for family night.
