Born and educated in England, Jonathan Linn went to the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, and was a captain in the British Army. Later he lived and worked in the United Stares, Britain, Malaysia, Australia and Cyprus, and carried out assignments in more than 30 countries including Thailand and Singapore. He lives in Connecticut.

Jonathan Linn presents an exciting first novel filled with plentiful plot twists that make for an exciting read. The story takes place in 1985 when Mark Gregson, having retired from the SAS, takes on Lord Invercairn's assignment to investigate the "suicide" of his son,Steven, and find his missing granddaughter, Fiona. Even before his plane lands in Kuala Lumpur, Gregson is made bluntly aware of Dadah, the local word for narcotics. Almost immediately he is drawn into the web of mystery and deceit that laces this country with the world's harshest anti-crime laws. No one or no place seems to be what it appears on the surface.

The author has created a fact filled novel without bogging down in superfluous detail and he enlightened me with information about the world of narcotics that I never knew. I found the book to be an easy, exciting, fact filled book that I didn't want to put down. Let's hope that there will be more adventures of Mark Gregson--I'd like to get to know him better...

It's rare to read a novel in the safety of one's own home and feel one's heart pounding in excitement. Yet that's what happened to me with DADAH MEANS DEATH.

This is a Ludlum and DeMille style thriller, definitely top class. Unlike many lesser works, the story never becomes implausible or contrived.

The hero is a retired British army officer sent by the classic rich Englishman to see what has happened to the man's beloved granddaughter, who has gone missing in Malaysia. That there is a drug involvement, in a big way, and a choice of bad guys, goes almost without saying.

According to the jacket blurb, author Jonathan Linn is, himself, a retired British army officer. Without a doubt, he has logged his time in Malaysia, because this mystery only could have been written by someone with a bone-deep knowledge of that part of the world.

This book must be made into a movie--I can't wait to see it. Wow, wow, wow!

Reading Jonathan Linn's biography helps to understand why his impressive background has contributed to such an outstanding, action packed, exciting and believable novel. The research is obviously authentic and credible making the story riveting from beginning to end,rich with detail, and surprising twists and turns to the fascinating plot.What a great movie it would make! We look forward to enjoy a sequel.
