Product Description

DADDY DAY CARE pals Charlie and Phil are back in this hilarious, all-new adventure: DADDY DAY CAMP! When the dads expand their childcare magic to Camp Driftwood - serving up sports, crafts and teaching the kids a thing or two about nature, they discover the camp has everything it needs except a plan to put the bullies of rival Camp Canola to shame. With some quick thinking, teamwork, a secret weapon and some off-the-wall crazy antics, the dads and kids unite to make sure DADDY DAY CAMP secures its rightful place in kid camp history!

Hilarity reins when Daddy Day Care owners Charlie (Cuba Gooding Jr.) and Phil (Paul Rae) expand their business to include running a summer camp. Determined to provide their sons with a positive camp experience, Charlie and Phil visit their childhood Camp Driftwood only to find it dilapidated and on the brink of closure. Nursing an old rivalry with the neighboring Camp Canola and its director Lance (Lochlyn Munro), a former camp competitor from childhood, Charlie and Phil impulsively become partners in Camp Driftwood and find themselves with a month to create a thriving camp or risk foreclosure by the bank. The first few days are complete mayhem with exploding outhouses, poison ivy outbreaks, and bee stings galore and, against his own better judgment, a desperate Charlie calls in his father Colonel Buck Hinton (Richard Gant) of the Marines to help run the camp. While the two have very different visions of how to run a camp, the rivalry with Camp Canola unites them and slapstick humor reigns as the two camps engage in warfare that culminates in an Olympiad challenge that will reveal the shortcomings and dishonesty of Camp Canola's staff and students while showing Charlie the true value of family and teaching the entire Driftwood population some important lessons about honesty, believing in oneself, and the power of doing one's best. Bonus features include a "How I Spent My Summer: Making Daddy Day Camp" featurette with cast interviews as well as an interactive quiz about the featurette. Cuba Gooding Jr. replaces Eddie Murphy and Paul Rae replaces Jeff Garlin under the direction of Fred Savage in this sequel to Daddy Day Care, but Daddy Day Camp stands on its own as fun family entertainment for ages 3 and older. --Tami Horiuchi

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun family film January 26, 2008
By Debbie
This is a clean, fun family film. It is especially suitable for young audiences; probably not enough cursing and violence for some. I took my grandchildren twice and loved it both times.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stop bashing this! May 30, 2010
By Kody
Okay, I was just wondering why the hell do horrible movies like the Truman Show and other crap like that gets nominated (and possibly wins) for Oscars while we absolutely need to send these kind of movies straight to the Razzies. I mean let's face it: like most sequels, Daddy Day Camp is not better than the first but still enjoyable. Of the actors, Cuba Gooding Jr. and the the other camp monitors (which I forget their names) were excellent. Some of the kids like Cuba's son in the movie could easily start a career, while some others (which I will not name) should be sent down to the Razzies. Besides Cuba's son, Billy the bully is within the good actors, and Grandpa Buck is hilarious.

The emplacements were beautiful, and I just wish for people like major critics to stop saying negative stuff on this movie, because it's a lot better than what you're expected to watch.

3.0 out of 5 stars This is one of those movies....*SPOILERS* July 17, 2008
that you know is going to be silly, but you figure..."Why not?"

It was a rainy afternoon, the kids-five boys, 14, 12, 9, 4 and 6 months-were bored and antsy, so I popped some popcorn and put this in. It wasn't Oscar winning material, and a part of me is sad to see Cuba Gooding, Jr continuously in this goofball roles, but it wasn't bad either. Daddy Daycare had Eddie Murphy's comic timing and at the time it was a more original idea. This is recycled material, and Gooding doesn't always hit the mark, but it was a nice family movie. We laughed, and though we knew what was going to happen we still enjoyed the 'underdogs' winning at the end.

For a family movie you could certainly do worse.

1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage, just absolute garbage!! September 21, 2013
While Daddy Day Care is (in my honest opinion) a hilarious family movie, this sequel makes its predecessor look like Plan 9 From Outer Space. Cuba Gooding, Jr is not exactly the best replacement for Murphy, let alone, the script is just bland. Well, Fred Savage, I'm really sorry that you got stuck with this as your directorial debut. All in all, don't buy this and buy Daddy Day care instead. You'll find that one more amusing.

I had low expectations but it didn't even come close to even that low threshold. My 3 year old wasn't even amused.

I really hate this movie. My son liked it. It doesn't at all compare to the 1st movie & it doesn't match up with the ending of the 1st movie either.
